Bernie gurr

I was watching on the couch with sterlo tonight and he has stated he would like to see Bernie Gurr in charge of the eels, apparently he was the chief executive officer at the Sydney roosters from 1994-2003. The only info I could find of him was his LinkedIn profile, he has some expertise in a few areas, this is the link for his LinkedIn profile https://www.linkedin.com/in/berniegurr. Could anyone shed some light on this bloke and would he be the type of qualified person to steer this club around?

  • Apparently he's pretty good at what he does, what's more he has experience in the sporting/business sector and the NRL.
  • might be related to the former player Marty Gurr?
  • He is very well qualified for the job and a very smart operator, he helped build the roosters into a very good team in his time there and was very highly regarded there, i think he might live in the US now but not sure..

    •  Would be a real good choice, all other things being equal. I think he is still in the USA with good employment. He may be a bit too old for the job?. A might need serious money. Can see confrontation with Greenburge almost immediately. Gurr knows his league. Greenburge zilch. Bernie, come on down !

  • Hoops said he very nearly got the CEO role. He is that highly thought of, that's enough for me to prey they throw whatever it takes at him to get him here.
  • His LinkedIn profile pretty much sums up what he did throughout his professional working career.
He's worked for big companies across numerous platforms and professions around the world and from all reports, left each one with a quality of work left behind him.

He is indeed related to Marty Gurr, who is his brother.

Not a bad suggestion by Sterlo, by any means.

  • Sterlo also said tht he believes Bernie would consider the approach
  • He has a shit load more credentials than being the CEO of Tasmanian Soccer.

    • He has a shitload credentials then the last 5 ceo's put together

  • ^^ this ^^

"De Belin will do a lot of the clean up work, the 3rd man in for our defence. Hopgood is now not alone in that area. He will not be flashy but he will definately do his job."

"positives are Loiero is out. That is a big piece of their middle, he does a lot of clean up work in defence, tightens up the attack. No Katoa and they are umming and arring whether to play Ativalu Lasati or Joe Chan on right edge.
