Any coach would've been successful with the cattle he had at his disposal.
Broncos of the 90s was half the Australian team and the entire Maroons.
Send him to Canberra or Sharks and see how they go.
I'm not saying he is a bad coach, but he is the most overrated.
With the players he had at the Broncos, he was entitled to win more comps than he did.
He won a comp at the Dragons with a decent team (well done Wayne), but his true abilities came to the fore at the Knights. Average team, average performance, maybe an average coach.

even in his failed Knights stint, he took them to 1 game short of a GF....all while the club around him fell apart with that Tinkler disaster going on
Anyone who knows anything about the game, knows that he is the master coach.
I've never been a fan of his conservative attacking structures but you can't argue with his success rate. His Dragons GF was his finest hour IMO. He took a squad of solid players and took them all the way.
Fair question as to whether he can repeat that with the broncos again.

How would somebody like Des Hasler or, dare I say it, Ricky Stuart have gone with the team automatically enjoyed by Bennett at the Bronx? He did have first pick of an entire state's talent.
"The playing field was hardly level" - this is the truest statement in this entire blog.
Sorry Bennett lovers, I agree he is a good coach, but he established his reputation with one hell of an advantage over his contemporaries.
