I'm surprised that sideline benches don't have more protection from unruly spectators.
If that bottle hit a Canberra player I wonder if the NRL could be sued for failing to supply adequate protection to players.
In the Penrith game someone thew a ball back and it hit the female panthers physio in the back of the head.
Should the NRL bring in mandatory protective screens when the players are within 5 metres of the sideline, or would this take away part of the game.
Baseball has dugouts
Soccer often has player enclosures.
Is it time for the NRL to follow suit?

Our new stadium will have underground player benches like baseball ive heard, thats the way all aussie grounds will go in the future, some grounds do have the big perspex player shelters but even though they are perspex they still hinder the spectator view, youd think for dogs games perspex shelters would be mandate, im surprised they arnt.
I think Snipers placed in strategic positions on the tops of the stand roofs would work well.
100 metre shot (max) is dead easy, even with high surrounding populace.
