Seriously though, the winger was back. They could have scored with the numbers they had. Sometimes you have to chance your hand. Kurt Mann should have been ready for it. He's the one who got caught with the ball, not Hunt.

The winger was back, but on the ANZ surface you absolutely have to stay away from the touchline. I guarantee you the Bunnies were thrilled he didn't kick it. They were never going to score unless there was a missed tackle, they just weren't.
Yes sometimes you have to chance your hand, but there are also times when you have to play the percentages, and this was definitely that time.
The fact he had Kurt Mann as a halves partner for this game was a travesty.
Mann is not first grade level and Hunt was under big pressure all game to make the plays with very little help.
He took the wrong option but he took the right option every time previous in that game. I agree, a low percentage option but if the support was on the ball he could have ended up a hero.

All the more reason for Hunt to have taken on the responsibility, rather than dumping it on Kurt Mann. Can you imagine if Mitch Moses had done that for us in the same situation, he'd have needed a bloody police escort to get out of the ground.
Everyone looks at Ben Hunt. What about the dope of a foward that hit the ball up and had the ball stripped. Saints 12-11 up and decides to carry the ball under one arm. A few minutes to go cover up the ball with two arms what a dope. Where’s snake bring him back leave fong in the chook house with his feathered friends
Mann should have been cut out. An early ball to th center would have got them passed the first line of defense but it seems Mann got in the way. Low percentage but definitely on.

I am actually backing Hunt.

The pass was definitely ON and Mann died with the ball with a 3 on 1 overlap.
Not Hunt's fault Mann is a ball hog seeking personal glory.
Mann had two options that may have resulted in points
1) PASS
2) Short kick for the winger.
