Beirut Blasts

Just saw the worst explosion I have ever seen, 3rd biggest all time and biggest in peace time. Hundreds dead, thousands homeless . I know we have plenty of Parra fans who are of Lebanese decent especially living in Merrylands, Granville, Greystanes and Guildord. Hope all your Eels fans families overseas are doing fine . My mates cousin working in one of the buildings she was shredded from head to toe yet no hospitals could help her as they well full or just damaged. Worse to deal with this in a pandemic plus having economic collapse and food shrugged with prices of meat up to $80 USD a kilo.  We are blessed to live in Australia.

  • Our prays go out to the Lebanon community at this already hard time, such devastation, couldn't imagine what they're all going threw over there atm🇱🇧🙏

  • Whenever your complaining about having to live in isolation remember that's in itself is a privilege for the Lebanese peaplle as how can you isolate when your house has been destroyed ? 300k homeless . A great humanitarian crisis .

  • Not to mention, the collapse of the economy, food shortages and COVID 19. The Lebanese are generous people when I was growing up living amongst them. I saw the footage of the explosion. Horrifying!

I wish and pray for the Lebanese, they have definitely had it bad for the last 30 years

  • Been a terrible terrible year 2020.    Cant think of anything good globally to come from it.   Yes, we are blessed here in Australia.  But we are doing our very best to ruin it.

  •  It is heart breaking, I was listening to the ABC a few weeks ago, they were highlighting the hardships their citizens were already facing. Add Covid and now this. The world is in a mess, my thoughts are with the beautiful people of Lebanon.

The Lebanese community have had a bad rap in this country thanks to the minority of their community, a minority that all cultures are burden with. I have had nothing but pleasant experiences with our Lebanese community, their strong family values and respect for total strangers should be admired.

I met a Lebanese family through my business one Saturday morning, the family was having breakfast with their extended family. They did not allow me to leave until I ate with them. My family and I now meet every fourth week for an early morning feed with this family who were total strangers until that day.

This country and their people deserve better than their corrupt government is offering, I only hope that this disaster forces much needed political changes.

    • There a group  of people wanting to send medical supplies masks, gloves , santizers. Food like pasta rice or tuna . They are on verge of a famine and any food will be greatly appreciated. If anyone can help let me know also anyone with clothes that you don't need anymore  or don't wear will be so valuable to 300k people who are homeless who lost all belongings and possessions . They will be sending it out on Wednesday . If your able to help out in anyway let me know .

  • There will be many examples of the mighty hand of God surfacing around and out of this catastrophy.

My prayers are for all people in Lebanon and their friends and family here in Australia also. May those who mourn be comforted.

Jesus saves all who call out to him with a contrite heart. He hears their prayers from heaven and will heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14.

  • Sadly they are ruled by a corrupt government which has lead them to be in the poor position they are in.

"That is a very relevant point  you raise here Poppa. Never thought about their need for coach poaching and JR's connection to Eddie Jones makes your point extremely valid. Bloody hell what a mess this could make of our game :("
