asked in the presser why Jmaine got less minutes.. said he has a nerve issue in his back, most likely from the tackle in origin by Liam Martin.... and said he probably shouldnt have played.
could be an issue for him and might need to rest him next week

Let me guess how the presser went ,
Barrett " Deeeeeeeeeeeeeerrrrrr ummmmmmm deeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeerrrrr '
" Thanks everyone "
His coaching today reminded me of BA. His team selection, his player positions, his bench rotation and the way we played. As much as things change they stay the same with this team. Id love to see his presser, i think id puke if he mentioned chasing the collision.
We need a real leader of men as Head Coach, someone that can instill a war mentality. We need Marine Mcdermott. No rookie is going to fix our team with its leadership problems on the field.
Our big players went missing in the 2nd half when we could of put them away.
So isn't it time to ask ourselves why ? I'd bet it's not because Barrett's calling BA asking him why he should do with the team lists and bench rotations . BA is gone . It has nothing to do with him . When we won people were saying it was Barrett's influence so we can't say that Barrett's that inept that he only knows how to do whatever BA used to do . Hes auditioning for a job .
Could it be other influences other than the coach are playing a part here ? Whether that be the director of football or the captain / senior players ? Remeber they were the guys petitioning publicly in JAs favour for selection.
Well Barrett was responsible for our poor form when BA was still here, as was Murphy and Antonelli also.
I feel it was a missed chance naming Asi last minute when Harper may have been better suited, that's on Barrett.
Seen a lot of hypothetical talk from both sides, in that BA badgers claim it was all on BA but when Barrett loses they say it is other things. Vice versa for BA fans who don't blame the coach but when Barrett loses says Barrett cannot coach.
Either way, both were as responsible for our form and will continue. A new coach will come in and change the structure and everything, let's see how it works.
Well I'm consistent . Whether it be BA or TB , whenever we've lost in the fashion we did tonight , I've always blamed the onfeild leadership. No coach is that influential that they can make a team with such experienced players lose their shit so predictablly whenever they find themselves with an extra player over their opposition. Moses had like 2 runs all game , didn't touch the ball for multiple sets of six and Dylan Brown may as well have put his tracksuit on. When they were a man down these two shoud've been wearing the studs off their boots. Gutherson lost his cool and it was obvious for the whole world to see ,
100% agree on that. Look at Cleary, at almost every Panther's possession, you can see Cleary handling the ball and trying to create space and gaps with his playmaking thus creating confusion on the opponents defensive structure. Cleary most of the time runs in the middle towards the tiring forwards with support from behind.
We'd like to see Moses do handle the ball many times so to create doubts in the minds of the defenders especially with his speed.
Your a dickhead Wizard.
We lost the game because our left edge was murdered. An ounce of luck for the dogs and they would have put 20 on us. We won the game everywhere else but that left edge was incurable. It comes back to the cattle. Chrichton had the best game I have seen him play and it was men against boys when it came to where they scored all their points.
Anyone outside of the club and most within it will tell you that Gutherson is probably the best club leader in the game. That includes the media as well. I have not seen anyone else called for Gutherson to be sacked as captain other than you and some of your accolytes.
Throw on top of that you think we would have gotten Bellyache if we waited by making him the richest man in Rugby League...... I don't think he is short of a quid and there is plenty of money in Melbourne outside of the Storms salary cap on coaching that would ensure he never leaves for a club in Sydney.Maybe Qld if he makes a lifestyle choice.
Then you say during the game commentary that your 13 year old daughter could have kicked the field goal Moses missed just before half time.....really Wiz???
Best leader in the game ? You should get yourself to the nearest comedy night and do a set .
I don't know a single person outside of you , including the biggest 1EE fanboys that would make that claim . After that comment I'll refrain from even beginning to bother trying to make you look silly with the rest of your tripe , you did my job for me. .
Well Moses does join up with Brown from time to time, but it is only him. What i have noticed a lot, it is also on the 7 tackle set rule and also drop out rule, that we are more inclined to get tackled in the corner on the 5th on the opposition line. Now that did not work well yesterday due to our defence not aiming up to keep them there. That is where Moses and Brown need to come in with Barrett, form a plan and have some set plays. We have had the same to similar shape for the last or so years. With two of our tries coming from broken and adlib play.
Coryn, do you think it might be time to move on Brown and perhaps look at Gutho at 6 and Talagi at 1 for new dimension in attack? Just Brown cannot seem to get going of late.
I prefer that to be fair. However, i have said in the past that a coach is as responsible for a loss as the players. Now that could be lopsided as in 80/20 players or 60/40 coach, but win or lose both players and coach are responsible for the result in some way. At the end of the day, it is the coaches job to have their team prepared and ready to go, now the players also need to show their worth, but the coach also is at fault for the mentality. Not 100% at fault, but they still deserve blame in certain areas, Barrett deserves some blame for the loss yesterday. Whatever happens in sheds is not working as we always come out rubbish in second half.
I agree that the leadership group aren't leading as they should be, but that has been an issue for years. Not saying this is you, just what i have heard, that "Once the players are on the field it is all on them" pretty much takes out the need for coaching. As if it is the players job only on the field, when they win or lose it is all on the players that is it. Coach did nothing to help them win or lose.
There are definately times, particularly in BA tenure, where there was just really dumb negative brought up that i feel were either out of the control of BA or just simply did not work on that day and it happens. But there are also times where it is a bad decision from a coach.
Again not saying this is you 100%, but just hate it when people say it is all on players and that is fair but the coaches also deserve a brunt of the blame too for a loss. Now it is the coaches job to get their team ready, it is also the job of the players to take the plan and put it into fruition. If it doesn't happen, where it the coach to hold them accountable?
However, i do agree that Moses and Brown went missing when it mattered the most. We went into survival and conservative mode. To do that you need to back your defence and we should not of done that.
Great discussion though Wiz, loved some of your points.
