Ball playing forward v kicking hooker

How much creativity does a side need in addition to the halfback and 5/8. In the past we have seen preferences in Origin team selection for one hooker over another because of their kicking game. BA seems to like Joseph Paulo as a ball playing forward. Can you be a quality first grade hooker without a short kicking game? Or are ball playing forwards taking the emphasis away from that area. When you get down to the attacking 20m zone, which would you prefer in your team? Perhaps neither are required as they only get in the way? What are your thoughts?

  • One of the halves should do the kicking, unless you have a James graham type of forward to run off.
  • Jake friend one of the best hookers in the game doesn't really have a kicking game IMO
