backs not the issue.

To state the obvious, we were out muscled today. When the pigs dont get the upperhand, the backs are hog tied. So talk of norman et al not being up to snuff is irrelevant. De gois was the only forward having a fairdinkum dig in defence. Hell, Sandow was tackling harder than anyone in the pack. We lost the hit, the wrestle and play the ball speed. We desperately need some astute forward purchases like Degois.Anyway, roll on round 26. We still have a......cough cough, mathematical chance.

  • Totally agree - fuck off the powderpuff mannah and his happy clapping buddy jo paulo
  • Yeah. To be fair, he had a dig
  • Right - tell me again how many tries the Knights scored through the middle?

2 out of 7 or something like that.

Yep - you're right - our backs are freeking world beaters, not an issue at all.

    • Unfortunately Col, we leaked points all over the park. A really dreadful team effort & u r correct, the tries scored out wide were pretty ordinary.

    • If our forwards did their job, our centres and halves wouldn't be  drawn in to cover holes and thus sio wouldnt be left in a 2 on 1 situation against leluia and the young winger (3 trys) and conversely radradra wouldn't have been caught In twice. Thats 5 tries there that could have been avoided. Other than leluia s try, knights outside backs didnt score from our missed tackles, they scored from our compressed defence due to lacklustre middle defence which led to them I ly needing a simple take it to the line and pass.

      Thats my take anyways.

    • Hey Col. Always happens when youre going backwards at a rate of knots, due to getting pumped in the middle on tackle 1, 2 and 3
  • Yep well said Daz Sul.
Where was last weeks line speed?
Where was last weeks desperation in defence?
Where were the players lining up to smash the oppositions forwards.
I'll tell you. They were basking in the glory of a job well done last week.
    • Yep, line speed was a major issue. Post-manly hangover?
  • Correction one try out wide was off a scrum play, it was a poor break but it was more a means of perfect execution.

  • Too true Frank. All the talk of playing finals football & the like made me cringe during the week. Never was it a given and they played like it was and had their pants pulled down big time. Good players are consistent. Good teams are consistent. We have not enough of the former to result in the later.

"There's your mistake, your right there Eli. "Build the squad he wants".
That cant happen if the squad he wants can't be signed by R&R.
How does that get rectified.
Interesting. Ryles appears like a fantastic signing and has changed the clubs…"
