For those wanting Fitzgerald back running the Eels have little memory. The first time the Eels got pinged for breaching the salary cap was when Fitzgerald was solely in charge. It was a considerable amount of money in those days. The NRL ought to be made aware of that. Say what you may about Sharp and the board, at least they are the devil we know and not the devil we don`t know.They were voted into power by the Eels members. An NRL appointed administrator will not have that validity.

Northern Beaches : If there were no other option, and the administrator was not Fitzgerald or like Fitzgerald I could live with that. Big if though. By the way, Fitzgerald helped Sharpie along the way to depose Spags.
NRL cannot appoint an administrator, or force board to resign, or get a representative on the board. Only the board members or club members can do that. Not rocket science, club administered by Registered Clubs Act, not the NRL.
NRL can have control over a footy clubs board but not a registered club.
While the NRL can't control the leagues club board and yes the Eels decided to make the leagues club and football club boards the same board rather then the 2 separate boards that were there before and considering all the issues that have come up in recent years I do wonder how much that decision affected things.

The NRL can simply remove Parramatta's francise license and take control before selling it to someone else if a suitable buyer comes along.
or at least threaten to remove it if the board don't allow NRL approved directors on the board.
If they go to that level is another matter but the option is there.
Yes the cap was breached under Fitzgerald
but EVERY SINGLE SEASON since he was removed it's also been breached including 2014 when the cap was breached on ALL FOUR TIERS which was a first in the history of the game.
I don't particularly want Fitzgerald back and think that the best option is for someone completely independent be appointed but given the choice between him, Spagnolo or Sharp I'd pick Fitzy every single time.
I don't care if Ronald McDonald was asked to run the club, as long as its not one of the knobs from the last 30 years.
This club deserves to be taken over, its been run like a personal play thing for far too long. The level of blatant self interest and cronyism is astounding - it looks as though power does truly go to most peoples heads.
