BA's Bench

I've blogged about this before and can't find it but seriously.... the 'it doesn't matter who -plays where , everyone has trained in a spot and can do the job' stuff shits me to tears.

The odds of the Raiders getting around us on Manu Mau's edge once he went to centre were about $1.01. He doesn't have either the lateral speed or the decision making ability of someone who plays in the backs regularly. I know you can't cover all injuries but the amount of times we have an injury to a back and put a plodder out wide is staggering. Kirisome might be able to fill that role on the bench once Taka is back.

  • But then who drops of the bench with auvua joining it?
We need two props so Alvaro and vave are safe
Our defence is in tatters without Scott so he is a must
I'd much rather have Edwards on the bench then a utility.
    • I dont think we need Alvaro who was pretty solid tonight. Brown, Tepai, Scott, Vave, Mannah, Matagi are enough middle forwards to carry. All the top sides are carrying a utility on the bench.

One of the big things upsetting the balance of our side is the fact Mannah is completely shot after about 8 mins on the field. Its too big a gamble to carry all forwards. We've lost a back in a heap of games this year and none of our back rowers are versatile or experienced enough to play centre. Scott woulda been good for the role 5 years ago.

  • I wouldn't be too worried about our left side defence.  Our big weaknesses is our right edge defence.  Takarangi, Auva'a and Hoffman have struggled in nearly every game in defence and all three lack speed and sharpest.

  • Most teams struggle when a back or half goes down. Just another blog from someone who only post when we lose. How many sides carry a centre as cover on bench,
    Mr
    (lacking) girth
    (full of ) wind and
    (wish you had) fire
    You are a dumb c#nt
Every side puts there 2nd rower at centre even the past 5 premiers have done so,
so find a real issue to complain about instead of bagging eels which you obviously not a fan.
    • Def need a utility on the bench imo. Esp if you don't have recently concerted centres playing in the backrow.

You sound angry though little man
