How many times does he mention after a loss that we did not get into the grind and werent willing to grind? Does it get to a point where they should be doing that after a while? is BA not getting his message across or are they going off track? i believe the latter but why is he not standing up and saying they stick to plan, he is the coach he says what goes at the end of the day, if players aren't doing what they are supposed to make changes.
I mentioned myself earlier we need to wide the wave early and see our way through the first 30, how can the team not work that out themselves as it is what BA asked for. Get's to a point where BA needs to hold more players accountable. Now does he drop a whole heap? of course not but start to stand up and hold players accountable more. Underestimating our opponents though is not acceptable and that stems to attitude, seen it enough in his 9 years to know it is an issue and he should have addressed that considering he has McGregor as a new voice.

I think the selections showed a lack of respect
Like we can get by with a centre on the wing and play with a hooker and a utility that we won't need good time to try things etc..
I promised to not blame BA everytime we loose but for me this one is on him
Offside i feel 50/50, talk of him being sacked or he cant coach is overblown but he tonight did some dumb things and so did they for a team that has been together mostly for 2-3 years. Why is an issue he has had with them since 2019 still apparent of not getting into the grind? They love BA, if they loved him that much why not listen to what he says and do as he says, if it is not working towards the end then move in a different direction as a team but they did not play the way BA usually prefers until late in the second half.
Do they love BA cause he is good but doesn't hold them accountable?
Yep ! Guys out of position (worst backline we've fielded in years), a very light on bench, and to a much lesser extent not worried about contesting Juniors weak charge... All sent the wrong attitude from the get go. Ive never been nervous heading into a Tigers match except this week.
Too right offside.. having penis on the wing killed it for me
Brad Arthur simply doesn't know what he is doing
Yeah cause you get to his level and finish in the top 8 consecutive years by asking people on 1EE what he should do each week. Maybe he just needs to ask a thousands years old book what he should do .
BA is right but it is becoming a habit which is not getting fixed. So he has to take some blame for it. I said something in a previous blog and I will post it here again because this is what happens to us.
We always get ahead of ourselves against bad teams. We drop to their level allmost. We r so complacent it is not even funny. If u look at tigers when they played storm, tigers put up a fight early. Why do eels always expect to rack up the points from the first minute. We play so impatient with dum passes into touch, offloads onto the ground and other dum stuff. We lose any patience against crap teams. We have to realise that most teams r bad because of attitude issues. So when tigers rocked up with a good attitude we had to be ready to grind. But they rolled us through the middle. We allows so many offloads and tackle breaks in the middle of the park. Against teams like tigers, when they decide to come with a good attitude we need to match them for at least one half. Eventually our superior talent would be to much and the points would flow in thr second half. Look at storm and panthers against the top teams. Normally in the first half they r leading but the score line is very close. But they have maturity, professionalism and patience to show their superior talent in the second half and score heaps of points against teams which makes the score line very one sided
Great post EA. We definitely tend to get over-excited against poorer opposition, over play our hand which takes us away from the plan. I'm sure BA drills the message into them yet it doesn't get followed unless we're playing a decent team?
It's difficult to say that any single player is repeatedly going away from the plan but as a team, it seems to happen.
Are there any particular players you'd say are regularly too impatient?
Imo BA shows time after time that he has no confidence in his bench and little confidence in his reserves.
He's usually very set in his ways with his top 13 and hates to deviate much.
BA needs some help with how he uses his bench, he really has troubles getting the most out of it and using it to the best of its ability.
