- We ran away from the collison instead of running into it (lol). Asked by the reporter to eleborate on what he meant by that. 'we needed to run into the teeth of their defence, get whacked, and get down the other end of the field' (Bush coach 101)
- We were good in the first half with our completions , the 2nd half we got good field position and wanted to throw 30 passes instead of spending time there. Not really sure what he was watching there as we couldnt throw 3 passes without dropping it.
- We need to focus and concentrate a bit more when its slippery at night. cool.
- We're lacking the attitude to grind. We know we can play football but we want to play football all the time.
- told the team they have to learn to be willing to play 80 mins instead of trying to trick or fluff their way to a win.
Enjoy the next 2.5 years. I feel like I've watched these same answers in press conference 35x. So clearly 'the right man to lead us forward' cant get his message across to his players, which is his job. Running straight at people and getting smashed was a new one though , and from what we all watched we did attempt to get smashed in collisions with the one out shit with no support or shape. Bernie Gurr needs to answer some Questions for us members pouring our hard earned into this club.
I know its gonna go like this.
Bernie ' the fact of the matter is we're improving the whole club at a macro level and the reality is, if we hadve won the game we wouldve been cemented in the 8".
The real fact of the matter is this bum has repeated the same press conference 35x in 3 seasons, is failing to improve our young players, is not getting the best out of our more established players, and has not been able to develop and leadership, consistency or mental toughness in his teams since 2016. The team that finished 4th is 2017 won tight games like tonight on the back of Semi's ability to find us points. Now he doesnt have that attacking freak and has to actually coach some attack our shapes and structures are pedestrian and you see better in NSW Cup. Enough is Enough.

Before this round I was neither a BA supporter or hater. I believed we should have moved him on when Mcqure was available however, I thought we missed the boat and was content to let BA continue as I couldn’t see a better option. Now I don’t care who coaches us this guys got no idea.
yes the players made mistakes and I’m sure BA doesn’t coach them to drop balls and play shit dumb footy. In saying that though the coach picks the team not the players. We were traveling ok then got smashed by Melbourne, since then it’s like BA has no bloody idea.
Salmon for Smith = stupid
dropping Kaufusi = Stupid
starting Mannah = Stupid
benching Mahoney = Stupid
Furgeson to centre = Stupid
playing George Jennings = Stupid
I agree Taka’s days are over in the centres but why make the change when Jennings is out giving you 2 new centres.
Just way to many stupid team selections from BA and this is what happens.
BA identified Salmon as a 10 year half for our club while watching an SG Ball final .
BA had Salmon training as a centre most of the preseason .
BA started Salmons season with him as a bench 9.
BA moved Salmon to 6 when Brown got hurt.
Salmon shows he’s not ready for first grade . Is it any wonder why with this dope in charge ?
In all honesty aside from our shitty attitude and what not .. what did you think when you saw the team BA named this week. Were the changes going to help us and solve any of the repeated problems we’ve had ?
And on the other side of the coin your blind loyalty in the face of pathetic performances is just as laughable, FFS the mistakes made last night would drive an under 12 coach nuts, its like they have not done any ball work since last game, couldn't catch and pass for 3 weeks in a row! Without penalties we could not find any field position, could not build any pressure.
Lol Brissy, we could lose the next 50 games and you would still be supporting and making excuses for this fraud of a coach. Come on fess up is your last name Arthur???
To be fair BE - these blogs are a reaction to another inconsistent season where we show what we can do (eg smashing the tigers, holding our own with the Roosters), and then continually not do it.
We've churned basically our entire roster under BA, and the same issues remain. Sure, bloggers here may not know the answer, but bloggers here aren't on a multi million dollar contract with a remit to know the answers. BA is.
Week after week we don't turn up to games we should win, and we seem to try the same tired tactics when things get hard. They haven't worked, so it is frustrating to see us keep trying them.
As for team composition, again, we're not the experts but we do expect our coaching staff to be. They're paid to be.
Brissyeel, I’m not a serial BA basher as I previously said I would have picked up Madge or attempted to get Bennet but I didn’t want to make a change just for the purpose of making a change. I never advocated that Mahoney wasn’t a 80 minute hooker or Samon wasn’t our best option at 5/8.
I think Mahoney is a very good prospect and should be working towards being a 80 minute hooker. It would be nice if we had a player to help him with the work load but we don’t!!! so don’t make a change just for the purpose of making a change.
Samon is in the same boat, he is learning how to be a regular NRL player. He has a few deficiencies that got exposed that needed to be fixed. Bugger me Smith has more deficiencies and hasn’t been able to fix them over his whole career. Don’t make a change to a worse option.
Alvaro, I will agree that his season hasn’t been his best and perhaps dropping him is on the cards. However starting Mannah is not the answer, remember how bad Mannah was as a starting prop? If you don’t here is a reminder he was absolute SHIT!!!! He has however developed into a fair interchange prop that can come on when the game opens up and we can play off his fast play the balls. The swapping of Alvaro and Mannah did not make any sense what so ever.
kafusie is a young hard hitting hard running player. Please explain why he got dropped?
Fergo, isn’t a centres asshole and everyone in the NRL knows that accept BA obviously.
what purpose did it serve to have Tacka on the bench and then only to play him at the end? I thought the purpose would have been to push Fergo out to the wing if the experiment failed. News flash it failed 20 minutes into the game, why did it take another 50 minutes to get Tacka out there?
I was a fan of Brad Arthur up until last year. I thought at the end of last year he should of fallen on his sword and I was expecting this club to find a replacement. To be fair, I didn't expect much from Parramatta this year (I had them coming dead last) but they surprised me early on. Now the last 4-5 weeks is exactly how I expected them to play under Arthur.
I can't believe the club re-signed him after that horrid defeat against Melbourne.
I know that Brad Arthur isn't out there tackling, catching passes, dropping the ball and all that caper but as a coach you do share responsibility for how the team is going. I'm not happy that we have another 2-3 years of this.
What I’m getting annoyed about is the changes he is making to the team are just stupid. I agree Salmon and taka needed to be looked at but you need to be improving the team when you change it not just change it and hope for the best. Smith is not a realistic 80 minute 5/8 and Furgeson has failed every time every coach had the idea he can play centre.
So please BA if you don’t have a better option don’t make the changez please just work on the deficiencies if the best option.
Being realistic BA and half of our squad are not up to NRL standard. Some of our players are not even depth players.
Our biggest problem is how do we move forward, who is going to want to come to Parra and be coached by Brad Arthur. To make a squad of 30 we will have to sign some of these numnuts for 2020. Yes we have younger players coming through, but they need experienced winng players around them.
I think we are in a battle with Titans and Dogs for the spoon.
Will struggle with our next 3 games, probably be on the wrong side of a flogging in 2 of them, that will be 6 losses straight. And it will be end of June do ya think Bernie would have offered BA 2 more years after that.
Brad Arthur might be a top bloke but he is NOT a NRL headcoach, we are going backwards and BA carn,t stop it. I do feel sorry for him he is probably the most hated Parra person at the moment.
Bernie gave him two more years straight after a 60 odd point debacle against the Storm. So to answer your question: Yes, he would still give him two more years. Although you raise an interesting point. Perhaps they could see the extermination, that you mention, coming, and for some unaccountable reason gave him two years in May instead of waiting till June as they promised. But why give him an extension at all? Just look at his record since he started at the Eels. Manifest flop.
