Most coaches complain publically when the referee decisions go against them. BA has a policy of not doing this publically. Does this mean that the referees dont feel any pressure to make sure they give us a fair go? Refereeing seems very reactive to media narrative these days. We have had very poor refereeing calls against us since the media fuss about the Warriors match - that was completely one-sided as we had just as many poor decisions against us as the Warriors had and their headline complaint was actually a correect decision.
If we are going to have a chance of winning a finals game we are going to need a fair go from the referees. Maybe we need to do something to lead the media narrative, which also seems to have pigeoned holed us unfavourably.
Usually the most professional looking team got the advantage from the refs, but lately the media narrative seems to trump this.

That has always been my concern with his approach
I think BA is trying to instil into our side that we can overcome refereeing decisions and mistakes. If he was to then complain about that in the media he'd be undermining the work he's doing. Case in point, he called our Titans win scrappy and didn't mention the Sivo no try call
Pops you should be able to go into the top right hand corner and click the envelope icon to open your inbox and access your personal messages on the site. When you try that, what's showing up?
That makes sense but he never ever has throughout the years.
he was also 100% correct about the scrappy win but don’t think it would’ve hurt to at least subtly mention that the sivo try looked ok.
You make good points Wile.
Ive wavered between being glad BA hasn’t acted the DH like some to wishing he would at other times. Even then suspect it’s more about exactly which/who you are that has the impact all in all.
And you are correct and the nrl media can have s huge impact on the reactive numbskulls that adjudicate the game...that’s why we were so worried about the lane thing which shock horror seemed to have blown over.
one of the craziest calls ever was the ponga no shoulder charge and this was definitely because it was one of the young brightest nrl stars.
Did you see annersleys explanation of why it was a no...bloody hilarious and the nrl press present never called him on it!
i wonder if we made a song and dance about that ? Also what if we lost for that one would BA have called it out...doubt it but it warranted it.
Well nothing in the NRL weekly briefing about the Kane Evans sin bin last week and this week nothing about the deplorable decision in the Sivo non try.
I understand BA not commenting but would Craig Bellamy have kept quiet about these decisions?
Its a bit of a case that sometimes these officials just have to be publicly held to account otherwise we will just be the recipient of soft dud calls without consequence.
Yeah that Kane Evans one was one of the worst ever and could’ve been subetly mentioned as well.Yeah imagine Ricky would have gone ballistic and Bellamy def would have too, Wayne would’ve said something about it ...but again think it’s about which coaches they are as well.
I am suprised Sivo was not sin binned - joking
Difference probably also is if BA said anything he would get his ass fined.
Maybe he could have walked the tightrope and commented that the boys did not let the questionable Sivo decision knock them of track
