After the panthers game in round 5 where we played dumb and threw the game away. I put up a blog saying BA and his coaching staff had 3 weeks to try a different strategy in attack and stop playing predictable one out footy. I said they need more second phase. Chance there arm and try gain some confidence.  He also dropped a few underperforming players that got a positive affect. Maybe it was Hadley's comments that fired the boys up.

I think also it could be a few signings that may unsettled the group.

We have a small but powerful forward pack who bust there asses for this club only for it to disappear when Evans were along side them. Evans is on more money then the most of the pack and goes backwards more times then forward.

I think BA can utilise Evans in a positive way for the team but in the backrow and for 15-20 min bursts running wide and hitting holes. Just like t-rex. Maybe with t-rex injured it may be Evans chance.

Well done BA and the team:).

  • Hail king Gutho!!!!
  • So.... Maybe it wasn't the coach & finally the team getting into gear. To think Gutho makes such a difference us mind boggling. So much talent in that team yet on player brings it all together. Much like the Hayne at his best days.
  • Players ran harder, tackled harder and were more disciplined

  • Purchase Paseka Siply. Suli. Manly need to shed players
  • Best move brad ever made was dropping beau Scott. Absolute passenger and was dragging the team down
  • I think we may have underestimated Gutho's impact on the team from a leadership perspective - I know I did.

2 incidents stand out for me from yesterday's game:

That penalty he was calling for when the Balmain fullback was lying all over Ma'u and his reaction afterwards typifies who he is as a leader and his place in the team.

When the Tigers had the feed with 3 minutes to go, you can see/hear him yelling at everyone to defend hard for 1 more set. Something Mannah would not have done (and did not do as he was on the field at the time).

    A genuine leader!

    • Totally agree. He’s a footballer through and through and like a Cameron Smith he knows what to call for a penalty, where to position himself to get loose balls - little things which can’t be coached you either have that nous or you don’t.
  • With the Hadley like comments “brads lost the shed” think the boys responded in the way  they are getting paid to do and should have! Sounds like they were all affected by the talk of having no respect for Brad and as they should have been also!

Guth back out there is  massive for us to help reinforce all that we were building on...can’t believe  anyone would consider anyone else as a future lcaptain...a rare gem art our Guth!

That  ‘training session’ where it sounds like they really gave it to each other and was what the dr ordered as well...knocked some sense into them ala Masters style.

shame it all didn’t happen a couple of weeks prior....argh well.

Personally hope BA decides to leave Evans  where he is and I’d much rather a fully investigated and  fit Tep  back any day in the exact same way you mention.! Unless Evans has grown a heart this past fortnight, which he has never shown in firsts here thus far... none of his runs that he runs with true grit and purpose and very  slow to get back in line as well.

Just glad BA recognised what needed to happen after giving him his chance to atone previously.

  • As if BA was ever going to loose his job because of a blog you write!!!!. Next you will be claiming you coined the term "Possession is King". Fair dinkem !!!!
