BA has smokescreened this year? But will he do it again?

When Eels named their team list to play Storm on Tuesday in rd 2, BA listed Blake at center. However, before the list was even named, Blake tore his calf. After the game, Niukore himself admited that he knew he was playing center from Tuesday. So hopefully, BA is smokescreening again which would mean Rankin comes in for JA, Niukore comes in for Blake and Makatoa is promoted to the bench. However, this is obviously a slightly different scenario as Blake was injured in rd 2 but now his form is just shit.

BA also knew he was always going to start Kaufusi and bench Paulo (can't remember the round) but only made that change 1 hour before kick off.

When N Brown suffered a bad cork, BA was talking in the media that N Brown was pretty much a certainity to play. However, 1 hour before the kick off he was dropped off the squad list.

It would be a great laugh if BA makes the change 1 hour before kick off. All of us can then breathe a sigh of relief.

  • EA you are not Robinson Crusoe on this site with most members hating the selection and with some like yourself  trying to console their feelings by hoping coach will make a right from a perceived wrong by announcing players selected as just a smoke screen with last minute changes to surprise the opposition. Why would that be necessary when we are playing a team that has been beaten by at least 50 points in 2 of past 3 games . So why do you and most everyone on this site expect coach BA to make radical changes to to the team given the out of form competition next weekend ? We have to get over our inferiority complex !!! We are now capable of beating any team including thanks to coach BA !!! Have faith everyone but do not expect a guaranteed result because shit happens!!! Fans have witnessed great improvement in our performance in most games this year so everyone here please do not encourage calling for the axe of a coach who is our best chance.

    • Did you not watch how bad our right edge defence was against the warriors and manly? Even the bulldogs attack with Flanangan and Lewis would expose that.

      • We have won majority of games getting us through to finals with that right edge defence. The bulldogs attack did not worry us .

        • That's because we had Niukore playing center against the dogs this year. Mate everyone knows we will qualify for the finals. But if we are any chance of winning a preimiership this year, Niukore must start at center. Blake will go to reserve grade and should start training on the wing. If he does good, I would be happy for him to replace Fergo.

          • With respect , their is no guarantee we will qualify for the finals if what you say about Blake and weak left edge  is correct. And no one can be certain as to whether or not Blake's inclusion or exclusion will make a difference to our finish at the end of this years comp. After all hasn't Blake only played a few games this year? Yes Blake's last years form can be taken into account however we are in another season and we have new players all changing the scene for the better.

        • When it comes to the finals, I don't think it's the Dogs attack we will need to worry about.

The penny's and storm have put 50 odd points on Souths. Let's see what Parra do.

    • Huh? What radical changes are you talking about??? You mean putting the dude back into the position where we won the majority of our games so far this year?

Who cares how by how many points Souths have been beaten in the last x number of games? Did you see what happened to our right edge last week?

      • I was just about to say this. We aren't making any radical changes but rather reverting to the line up that we were playing our best football with.

      • No different to past games and we have won the majority of them , Take a chill pill and offer everyone else here one ,

        • You're the one not making any sense here pal, so go wild with the pills (or maybe you already have).

It sure is different to the past games where we won the majority. There's one key position. Can you guess what it is? It's not that radical.
