It wasn’t surprising to see our best performance of the season without our weakest players:
- Tepai Moeroa
- Brad Takairaingi
- Will Smith
- Daniel Alvaro
These players have consistently shown that they are not first grade players. It’s good to see that Brad Arthur has finally realised this too.
Was going to add Tim Mannah but really don’t think he’s been that bad the last few seasons.

Yeh, I just mentioned similar comments in my match reports.
I think the club got it wrong with Moeroa and Alvaro - both bulked up and they've lost their mobility. Moeroa had one stand-out game where he was bashing people but he's not naturally aggressive, so he's got to be switched on to produce those kinds of performances, and I don't know if your going to get it consistently from him. As Tesla mentions above, his body is probably more suited to backrow but I don't know if there is a place in our team for him as a backrower.
Will Smith and Brad Taikarangi are both rocks and diamonds players. When you have a flighty half-back like Mitch Moses you need to surround him with more reliable players. All of the players you have mentioned are off-contract and I think that their cards may very well have been marked for departure.
