BA CONTROL OUR OWN DESTINY

Guys, just read an interview posted on the club website about the Newcastle game. BA still has his feet firmly planted on the ground & isn't getting carried away with himself. Very controlled & level headed. A really positive sign for the pending match.

  • I just hope the players buy into what he says.
There are no guaranteed wins anymore.
They need to play the game like it is a sudden death game its that simple.

Dyldam Parramatta Eels Head Coach Brad Arthur says while his side have met his pre-season expectations so far this year, he still isn’t sleeping easy heading into Round 25 of the NRL Telstra  Premiership.

After a thrilling comeback win over the Sea Eagles in Round 24, Arthur says his side know how big a task lies ahead to beat the Knights in front of their home crowd at Hunter Stadium.

“Well, I don’t sleep easy any night, being a coach,” Arthur laughed.

“But I’m happy, I’m happy where we are. Our expectations [at the start of the year] were that we got better on a weekly basis, and that we were playing better footy at the end of the year than we were at the start.”

“We’re not getting carried away though, there’s still a lot of work to do. We control our destiny now so it’s up to us. They’re aware that if we lose we pretty much rule ourselves out [of the eight].”

“They (the Knights) will be hurting after their loss last week and they’ll be playing for a bit of pride at home. Their last 3 games at home they’ve beaten the Warriors, Melbourne and the Roosters; they’ve got some pretty big scalps and they’re a good side.”

  • "Deserving to be there (in the 8) and being there are two different things."

This sums up our season and the mindset that BA has instilled into the team.

Wishing all the boys the best for tomorrow.
