BA and the Roster Deficiencies

One could on and on about BA and his past blunders but now I'm going to discuss his new blunders most haven't alluded to.

Firstly getting rid of Norman. A bad move imo as the spine is already inexperienced without now adding more to it.

Centre position. What are our options regarding centre? Mennings obviously, but what if he is out of form? What he showed us last year and the rubbish he showed for Tonga was not encouraging. Gutho is the only logical partner so if any injured or out of form who are our options? Taka is one but now training as a forward, so not encouraging. Ferguson is the other obvious choice but hasn't played the position for years. Has anyone else played centre? Has Dunster or Parry played centre in the juniors?

Forwards. For the life of me why did we get Andrew Davey and Gower for another year? We're top heavy in forwards and these two are well down the pecking order and only likely to play if injuries hit really badly. They are taking up 2 spots in the 30 that should of gone to some of our juniors or for a centre for instance.

Goal kicking. Regarding Norman's move why didn't they consider this scenario? As part of the deal we should have asked them to release Lomax to us. He'd cover our obvious deficiency for a centre and fix our next major problem, goal kicking, where we have been average for years. Besides being a very promising centre this bloke is a sharp shooter missing very few kicks.

With a little more mindset and the removal of the blinkers that Parra have worn for years we could have fixed many of our pressing problems. Our backline for next year could have looked like this.

1. French

2. Ferguson

3. Lomax

4. Mennings

5. Sivo/Gennings

6. Gutho

7. Moses

Although Gutho is probably not the best 5/8th going around he would have given us experience there giving Brown another year in the lower grades to hone his craft. And we'd have a first class centre to partner Mennings. Instead we probably have to start next year with Gutho in the centres and Salmon as 5/8th. And our goal kicking is as problematical as ever.

Will this club ever learn?????

  • They wouldn't of let lomax go. Goal kicking we have moses gutho brown Mahoney and smith as options with obviously Moses as the 1st choice Norman was going to ho next year him leaving frees up a roster spot.

    • Lol sorry Brissy, but your correct, the experts here make me laugh, and it is all about about I told you so. It's like they want you to fail to have their names in lights. This has being happening for years, happening now & it will happen again next year, same old, same old. I don't know why they bother following the team, they hate everything about the team from tops, admin, coach, players, supporters & so on.
      • Keep on whinging about whingers, whinger.

Mainly just "supporters" like you and your ilk. That's why the club is so fucked.

  • Too much talk of young guys not having the experience. Best way to get it is by playing. Everyone has to start somewhere. I don't think age is much of an issue these days. Nathan Cleary is a fine example of a youngster holding his own easily in the nrl. So many of the greats started young I just dont get it

  • I agree with tin tim 100% and then that dope, frankie fong comes in with his comment about a cartoon expo. Was that an attempt at humour? Comics like Jimmr Carr and Jim Jeffries must be breaking down frankie's door trying to get zingers like that!

I also saw, in the last day or two, frankie bagging a poster for writing 2 blogs on the same subject!!! FFS, I've read a 100 or more of his posts and they're ALL on the same bloody subject, everybody's shit except himself and the other "realists". Great Parra supporters.
