Auva'a vs Hoffman Alvaro vs Frank.

Who would be the best fit for the team heading into the final five games of the regular season. I feel the only contentions position up for grabs is the right wing spotBoth Auva'a and Hoffman have their strengths, with Auva'a's ruck strength and physical presence a huge plus.Hoffman on the other hand is a very good all round player, with his abilities in the air, positioning and speed being his strengths.Frank Pritchard could also force his hand, keeping players like Alvaro on his toes.Who in your opinion gets the nod if fully fit, leading up to the finals ?For mine, I'm tending to slightly lean towards Hoffman and Alvaro, but Auva'a will definitely keep his position for now, and could even cement it if he produces the high standards he has shown thus far.Brilliant Broncos game. Plays like an extra forward.

  • I can't understand why Fritchard is still an edge forward. Surely he needs to be moved to the middle.
Would think of Fritchard as depth for Vave - not the same type of player as Alvaro.
Triple A did great but Hoffman probably the better winger - especially for defence.
  • Not sure how good Auva'a on the air. I would go with Alvaro for his defence.
  • Alvaro over Frank for sure, never been a huge Alvaro fan but he offers a hell of a lot more than an ageing Pritchard and deserves his place ahead of him, Alvaros defence and work load is much more important than anything Frank could offer..

Auva imo deserves to hold his place, hes not as good a defender as Hoff but hes much more dangerous close to the line and hes much harder to out muscle than Hoff.

So its Alvaro and Auva for mine.

    • Alvaro and Frank play different positions. Alvaro is a high workrate prop who's defence recently has been fantastic whereas Frank is more your impact-type back-rower who plays in shorter stints and is used to try and break the game open a little more and give your outside back a little room to move.

  • Keep the same team as last week. We were very good. Auva needs to stay cause French is small we need two big wingers to compensate. Storm have done the same with slater/Munster as fullback. We struggled with Hoffman at wing French at fullback. Alvaro has have a great season. Watching eels v storm. Moses is a legend and our play the ball is so much quicker with king at dummy half. Even though injury prone resign him don't need a new hooker. He be cheap cause injury prone
  • Hoffman's perm makes me nervous
  • I think Polar has done more than enough to secure his spot in the top 17, but the other question is much more difficult to answer.

Somi's effort on the wing against the Broncos was outstanding but I was surprised that he wasn't tested more.

Hoff has been solid without being a star since joining the Eels and will always be reliable.

In the end I think the incumbent will be safe until they prove otherwise or gets injured, so don't stop looking over your shoulder Somi!
  • A & A.

    Double A
