  Australian movies wise, I'd say that The Castle and The Dish are my favourites.

  It's based on the John Marsden series of books for teens. Cost over $20 million to make and hasn't recouped that yet, but it still has to be released internationally.

   

  Apparently the sequel has been green-lighted too.

  Castle, Chopper & Romper Stomper.

  Bad boy bubby has to be one of the worst.

  Also thought that Shine with Geoffrey Rush and Rabbit Proof Fence were great films as well.
  Also didn't dislike Balibo (based on a true story), and Animal Kingdom.

  
  Then for the humour side of things, apart from The Castle and The Dish, you can't go past Wogboy 1 & Wogboy 2: Kings Of Mykonos.
