I just wanted to see if any other members are going over to Auckland for the 9's. I am going over for 5 days and am really biting at the bit to see some sort of footy!

Should be entertaining, looked very successful last year, im sure it will be even bigger n better this year, youll have to report back and give us a wrap.

This 9s tournament should be scrapped. It causes a lot of injuries pre season. The coaches dont even attend it. The clubs do not play their top FG players. They use old stagers like Fittler, Gasner, etc. And its in NZ. The games serve no purpose. Get rid of it now
I am staying at Sky City too, from Thursday to Wednesday with 2 mates. 1 Eels fan and I'm ashamed to admit 1 Dogs fan. Maybe we can get him blind and put him on a boat to a remote island with the rest of the dogs supporters. Also have 4 mates coming same time frame but staying at University Hostel. I am 50/50 with the format, I would prefer like the old sevens with developing teams like Tonga, Samoa, USA, Papua New Guinea, maybe NSW country, Qld country, a Victorian side It would show off a lot of young and emerging talent whilst growing the game in other areas. Don't risk a lot of the super stars but instead discover some new ones. That way the inclusion of former greats could actually serve well for pure experience and wisdom to the new crop. Each team to have 2 fans in each team with guaranteed game time. 1 auctioned and 1 drawn out of current club members. I wish I was rich or CEO of a major company, I would offer some serious prize money and incentives to make it worth while. Then televise all trials to really get us in the mood for the start of the season. Please don't be to harsh it's been a long off season and I am going crazy!
