  • On Gem by the way. 219 Pathetic total!!!!
  • They were very lucky to get that total.

  • Australian cricket is dead after all the sh*t that happened in SA.

  • Cricket is slowly becoming a dying sport!

    • Cricket Australia has been working hard over the last few years to define how cricket is played and attracts kids from the first time they decide to play, and it has set this up in a national way.

Cricket may or may not be dying slowly, but I can assure you it is doing a much better job at grassroots level than rugby league is.

    • You are a knuckle head Monto.  20/twenty has seen a massive increase in participation across the globe.  Countries such as Ireland, Afghanistan and Holland are becoming more competitive.  Bangladesh have improved also.  You haven’t a clue son.

      • Scotland just beat England in a one dayer as well.

Unfortunately we don't seem to be able too.

  • You have things like peewee football in America which is their youth competition. Gridiron is the most popular sport in America and pretty much has an iron grip on winter sport. Unlike Australia where you have options outside of rugby league like AFL and football, in America there aren't many with the funding and support that can compete with gridiron.

In my opinion rugby league grass roots has an issue with visibility at younger levels. In that many children in the heartland of rugby league aren't visited by their local club or by the NRL. Western Sydney is a prime example here. the GWS Giants and WSW conduct more school visits than the Panthers and Eels. I mean my school is in Parramatta heartland yet in year Seven the AFL had game development officers teaching us how to play AFL for the entire year on sport days. In year 10 the GWS Giants sent coaches and players out to coach us in earning an AFL coaching certificate.

The two areas the NRL can improve:

    1. Be more visible in its heartland, particularly given the growth of football and Aussie rules.

    2. Introduce a weight class system for 14 years and under at the local level. That will avoid most of the major concerns regarding huge size differences.

"Whose going to do the main goal kicking this year? Moses, Pezet, Russell ? Or maybe another? Pezet is very good. Moses very good, Russell ok but struggles with kicks that are closer to the sidelines. "

"Just no injuries please. I dont care if we lose. Means nothing if we rock up to Melbourne round 1 and get flogged.
Mitch should kick a few balls, make 1-2 tackles, pass the ball once or twice and then come off.
