At risk of being told I'm not a real fan, I want to put the question out there.I was reading replies on Facebook to the club's statement regarding the Foran fiasco and one poster made a good point. He mentioned this event as part of a long line of events that make our club look incompetent and asked why his membership dollars should be spent on a club that is being poorly run and continuing to roll from one disaster to the next.I've been an Eels fan since 1978. I was 5 years old and grew up in Epping. Parra were our team and they have since been my team. My first years as a fan were good years. 4 premierships by the age of 13. That was followed by a lean and frustrating decade. Then the Smith era where we had a competitive side and played finals football again.Today feels like as low a day as I can remember as an Eels fan. Again it seems that the political rubbish is taking the spotlight from the football and what it really should be about. It seems that within the club we have hit rock bottom and the light is a very long way away. Talk of losing Foran and also Brad Arthur. Talk of Daniel Anderson stepping back in as coach and the stupid revolving door continuing to revolve. At what point is it fair to say enough is enough?

  • You make a fair point.. Yes it's in our blood but by gee this is garbage
  • End of 2016 is my end date.
  • Well said Camo73, the breaking point is fast approaching for a lot of 'real' Parra fans. I have to agree that when I heard the news that Foran may not sign due to typical Parra political boardroom bulls%&t, I couldn't believe it. I too have been a fan since 1978 and I was 7 years old so I can completely relate to you, and when I heard the news about Foran, as an Eels fan I too hit a new low.

  • I would never give up on them, but couldnt diss anyone who did
  • Webster was on Big Sports Breakfast this morning and stated that NRL HQ were known to leak items to the press to ensure RL was on the back/front page of the papers if it was a slow news week.

We all know Parra sells papers so if nothing is happenning with Bunnies or Dragons then we will be thrown up to the press.

Not saying what has transpired is nothing to be concerned about but that it should not be public knowledge and therefore we shouldn't be throwing the toys out of the cot just yet.

These sort of things may also happen with the Sharks (who also seem to have no cap) but nobody hears about that because nobody (except Rothfield and SBBB) cares.

  • I'll be damned if I'll walk away from the jersey that's in my DNA!
This whole scenario is ridiculous and it's being preyed upon by the usual media rumour mongering. Don't get me wrong, there is some mending to do but the SMH is fishing in its article. The damage is evident from the response by supporters.
If we salvage the Foran signing, it does not let our club and its processes off the hook. Lessons must be learnt. Faith must be earned.
But I'll be here to do my part.
    • I love the part you play here mate.
  • Stay strong mate. 99% of what was written  yesterday was mudslinging bs.

Fact nrl wouldn't register Forans contract. the club and Foran have been in negotiations to alter the contract into a registrable form. Someone leaks the above and suddenly Foran has signed with the Warriors, Roosters, Titans, Bulldogs and was spotted on a plane to the UK and DA and BA have apparently been throwing darts at each other.

Not sure who leaked but I wouldn't mind seeing them drawn and quartered in front of the leagues club.

This will sort itself out by weeks end and Foran will be in the blue and gold in 2016.

  • Slowly these incompetent fools are destroying my love for the club. Let's say you decided that in 2011 you were going to have a break from the parramatta football club & you returned this year. You would just be gob smacked to find this place has not changed at all! At all!! It's a disgrace to treat us like this, this club needs good leaders.
  • They've been a joke nearly my whole life. Haven't won a premiership since I was 4. Still the only thing that will stop me supporting is them being kicked out of the NRL or a merger. Times like these make me wish it would happen...
