With the confirmation still to come that Matagi and Frank Pritchard have signed we have finally assembled a squad that would go very close to challenging for the premiership (barring any unforseen circumstances).

The only question marks are:

  • Will Gutho be the right fit in the halfs? If not I think we have a good backup in the Fog.
  • Is IDG going to be the incumbent dummy half? An honest toiler but he brings no x factor to the position. I think Cameron King could be the answer. I have not seen him play but based on other comments here about him and the fact he played a lot in the halves for Wenty last year he obviously has some skills that IDG and Kaysa lack.
  • Will Semi play for us this year with the court case and NRL hanging over his head? Is his head in the game or will he give us some sub-par performances like he did last year?

Lets face it, our props used last year were never going to win us a premiership. Yes they are all honest toilers but were never going to bust open a game for us. The had no variety, no offload, little impact and no X factor. All these new players are dynamic in their own way.

To those that constantly pooh poohed me whenever I posted about deficiencies in our incumbent props I say suck it up princesses, I am glad that BA listened to me (lol) and not you!

Our best team would probably be:

FB        French

RW       Auva'a

RC        Radradra

LC        M Jennings

LW       Hoffman

Halvs   Norman/Guth/(Fog?)

BR       Ma'u/Scott/F Pritchard

FR       Mannah/King/Matagi

Rsvs    Brown/Vave/Taka*/Edwards**

*Taka is a super sub able to cover almost every position

**Edwards to be backup dummy half for 10-15 mins when regular takes break.

This team has genuine fire power in the forwards and plenty of speed in the backs. Thank you BA for finally assembling probably our best team since 2001.

  • Since when is Radradra a centre?

    • He moved there after his stint at fullback.
  • Need a hooker
    • Try Canterbury rd
  • Semi to 5/8!
  • i like this team except there is no tep and radradra and ava swap

    • Yes Josh I couldn't fit Tep in so went to what I thought was the best squad that would have the most impact.

I picked Semi in the centres as I think he would make a great centre, his passing ability is first class. Imo he is wasted on the wing outside Jennings and would have much more impact at centre. You could also swap Auva'a and Semi if doesn't work out.

  • Think it will be more like:
    1. French
    2. Semi
    3. Jenko
    4. Taka
    5. Hoffman
    6. Gutho
    7. Norman
    8. Mannah
    9. IDG
    10. Wicks
    11. Scott
    12. Ma'u
    13. Moeroa
    14. K. Pritchard
    15. Vave
    16. Brown
    17. Edwards

Reserves: Terepo, Matagi, Alvaro, O'Brien, Gower, F. Pritchard, Tanginoa, Hasson, Niukore, King. (Very very good Wenty pack)
    • Yep, that's exactly my team.

      Except

      11. Ma'u

      12. Tep

      13. Scott

    • NOOOOOO Matagai and f pritchard will not be in wenty , mate wicks will be in wenty
