Asofa-Solomona

Please excuse the spelling......but Parra need to do whatever it takes to buy this kid from the Storm! Every time he touched the ball last night he was a threat and so difficult to put on the ground. His size, bulk and aggression is exactly what Parra need in their front row!

  • Yeah we shouldn't be chasing anyone while we have a powerhouse like Captain soft serve at the club.

    • Alan, mate Mannah has been playing injured and copped a head knock last night....
  • He's gone staying with the Storm but here's another I like Shaun Lane..would be on f all at Manly.... 22yrs old, 198 cm tall and 115kg. Has looked a different player since leaving belmore, leaned up and looked an absolute weapon at second row against Panthers. One more year to go on his contract but with the extensions and resignings they are going to give Addin Fonua Blake, Akuila Uate, Dylan Walker and possibly Blake Green. Lane may slip through the cracks.
  • Demanding way too much, might be another Sika Manu or Adam Blair and only look beast off Smith. Much rather Shaun Lane like Fat Guy said. Didnt turn heads at Belmore and Mt Smart, when Jurbo, Fonua Blake and Sironen come back into the side he will most likely go back to reserve grade or have limited stints kn the bench
  • Totally agree, what a player. But I think Storm won't be silly enough to get rid of him. There's a bit of Kane Evans about him. I think with a bit more aggression Kane Evans will do the same job for us next season. I do think we are two quality props away from being real contenders though.
  • We should be chasing Paasi from the Titans.

    • Or Sam Mataora from the Knights, who is un-contracted for next year.

An article in the Nerwcastle Herald yesterday reported he's considering giving the game away at age 26.

If this guy could be motivated to return to his best at the Eels, he would be a bargain buy!

  • Surely we can do better than a bloke who can't crack the worst side in the comp???

    • On the surface you would think so Al, but big Sam has suffered injuries, weight gains and lack of motivation.

This would be a chance for our coach to have a talk to the guy and if agreeable offer him a contract with us.

It could certainly turn out good for us because Mataora at his best could be anything.

He is 190cm, 111kgs and 26 years old!

      • He might be ok as a wenty signing but we really need another quality middle forward to replace our captain who can barely last 5 mins without going off for a HIA.

"Start Samrani either centre or wing. He smashed the sharks and the chooks. Was fast, tackle-busting and once he set his eyes on the try line it was curtains for the opposition.
