AS A SEASON TICKET HOLDER WHAT DO YOU EXPECT?

There is every chance that the rest of the competition may be played behind closed doors.

This has going to have a huge financial gap for all clubs, some may go broke.

As a season ticket holder I am quite happy to give my fees as a donation to the football club.

I dont know why the NRL can't play all the Sydney matches at a smaller gound where the costs would be lower.

  • They should be reimbursing season ticket holders, pro rata, for any matches that they are not permitted to attend.

Season ticket fees went up considerably this year, as they do every year - they can't have it both ways.

A season ticket purchase isn't a donation - it's payment for a product or service and if they can't deliver what has been paid for a reimbursement is due. If a season ticket holder wishes to then donate the money back to the club after they have been refunded that is their personal choice but the club shouldn't be accepting and holding onto money for something that they can't deliver and has been paid for in good faith.

I'm a season ticket holder and I fully expect to be refunded, pro rata, for any matches that I have paid for that won't be available for me to attend.

    • I think that's fair enough. Let's see what happens. We dont have a game at BankWest until Round 4 (Sunday April 5th). I'm sure a lot will have changed between now and then.

    • The story coming out is that any unusable portion of your membership will be rolled over to next season. So its a refund of a sort, basically a store credit if you will.

      • So we can expect a big price rise for next season then to make up any losses.

      • What if you pay monthly as I do .ive got my pension ticket plus family package two adults and two junior tickets and it works out to over 11 hundred bucks

        • The same arragement, I pay for my Bronze seat monthly as well. This isn't official as of yet, but it is one of the outcomes the club is looking at.

In the end, if you want to retain your seat, the club is going to expect you to commit to next years dues, whatever they end up being.

          • Fair enough Brett if they go that route I'll be happy to do that

  • Nice gesture Kerry, great way for people to help the club if it comes to that, respect..

Anybody know how much the club makes from ticketed season memberships PA?

Its not only the members money thats a concern for clubs, its the sponsorship dollars too, gate takings, merch, leagues club, this is going to really smash the clubs.

If the comp is called off altogether, which it will be imo, as its only a matter of time before players, coaching staff and officials test positive, are the sponsors going to want their cash back?

It might come down to legalities and the contracts they have signed.

Clubs might play hard ball because they have to, could create dramas with sponsors moving forward.

    This could run deep.

I respect peoples sentiments like yours Kerry but there may be other people like families that will need that money back to do other activities with their kids, lots of families are living week to week.

I believe the members will have to get refund because people have paid for a product that cant be delivered but there should be an option to donate that money back to the club for those that can afford it.

And those great eels fans who do that, the club should send them a nice little personalised medal or plaque as a token of appreciation next year, which could be ordered bulk from china for $3-10 each, so it wouldnt hurt the club.

Maybe even give those people a special stadium tour with a few players would be a better idea and it would be free for the club, something along those lines..

Clubs are going to have to start thinking about this.

    • I don't think the club should be accepting money for nothing unless it is dire financial straits - as in they are not going to survive.

I don't think that, socialy, it is the right thing to do - especially at this time when parts of the community have plenty of other financial stresses which were unforseen. We are going to enter a recession and plenty of working class punters will lose their jobs when they can least afford it. They don't need to be paying what is essentially Parramatta Leagues Club for nothing. Our club has the means to survive this without handouts.

I don't like the medal idea either. A bloke who earns 4 or 500k per year who decides to donate his $400 odd bucks to the club because he's not gonna miss it anyway is no better than a bloke with 3 kids on minimum wage who saved for months to get seaon tickets and could use the money for something else for his family if footy matches are off the table.

The club should take a community minded approach and just give the money back. It's the right thing to do. If someone genuinely wants the club to have the money they can arrange it on a personal level.

I don't like seeing battlers getting screwed over. It happens way too much.
