Depending on how well Hodgson goes he is better then Mahoney in his prime but not sure if he can get back there.
Mate , Joey Lussick matched Mahoney quite comfortably. It ain't all that hard a task. And I hadn't even heard of Joey Lussick until he arrived to us.

Yeah tbh I was a pretty big fan of Lussick, we should've kept him.
And he's in the St Helens team who just beat Pentith
Bingo, and Lussicks stats were better than Reeds as was our team stats with Lussick. I tried explaining this to the Reed Fanboys at the time but they were too convinced he was the next Cam Smith because he was last man standing come origin selection. In the end he was ousted in favour of a bloke with 10 games to his name , but hey ... he got a maroon tracksuit so he must be a star.
It's weird we didn't try to sign Lussick once Reed left , I guess it's all about the money and he could probably earn more over there than he can here . Weird no other club picked him up , maybe he has a few birds over there he's shagging.
As far as I am concerned Reed really only had 1 good season split over 2 years.
ie 2nd half of 2020 and first half of 2021 before getting injured.
Maybe you could count the last quarter of last year. So 1 and a quarter good seasons.
Before he had he's golden run from mid 2020 to mid 2021 that lead to getting called up for SOO a lot of people on here where calling for his head and saying he was going to be the next Kris Keeting.
We sure as hell didn't miss him when Lussick filled in.
His best play by far was when they came back from covid and there was so much space around the ruck. Half the league had career best seasons in attack.
How much he played within our structures and if he has any more to give remains to be seen. Im more than happy us looking for something different at that position. Moses and DB are the absolute key re-signings and if we jag both of them we can't complain.
