Are We Fit?

Looking at last nites game where Souths almost beat the form team of the comp so far, I was amazed by their fitness. For the first 30 minutes they had less than 30% possession but still looked energised and full of running. At the back end of the game they almost run over Saints such is their stamina.

Now lets compare that with the Eels. They look absolutely smashed after 10 minutes which imo is directly leading to our poor possession rates so far. Except for the first 30 mins of the first game our possession rates sit around 40%. Once Penrith held onto the ball they run over us because of their superior fitness.

Is our fitness, or apparent lack of it, leading to our extremely poor form?

its Definitely possible but last week we looked spritely with a bit of possession in the last 20 or so minutes which is when we scored most of our points?

Funny how our new young AFL conditioning person has us as unfit as ever and our old trainer (from Jack Gibson days) has West Tigers jumping out of their skins.

Name another team that has played 3 of their first 4 games in 35+ degree heat! Scheduled to play panthers in 35 degree heat again this weekend.

  This is true - we’ve been bloody unlucky with the scheduling and temps but we look unenthusiastic at the moment too.

I hear what you are saying about heat and I agree but the opposing team plays in it as well.

We look fit but we are obviously not match fit.

AFL and NRL require different fitness so the who the hell thought it was a good idea to hire someone from AFL ffs?

They are fit enough they are just too small all across the park it’s Kinda like what you would see if you put an under 14’s team against an under 16’s
