Taking a look at recent contracts for our top squad, I was wondering if we "list management" are again making some similar mistakes. We got hounded and somewhat torn apart and reamed, after ending certain contracts at the same time. It had an effect of losing players, having to perhaps match a lot of contracts being offered by other clubs for our players, not to mention so much uncertainty around the spine and our best players staying or going. Our recent sigings are starting to once again take a similar route.
Gutherson Contract ends 2025
Dylan Brown Contract has Options in 2025
Will Penisini Contract ends 2025
RCG contract ends 2025
Shaun Lane Ends 2025 with Options
Matterson Ends 2025 with Options
Haze Dunster 2025 Option.
Is this good list management or are we heading down that rabbit hole of too many contracts of important players up for grabs around the same time.

I all say few of them players be there won't be on the money they're on now coming to back end of their careers, eg reg, gutho, matto.
3 years is be a long time in the game and a lot can happen.
Id rather shorter contracts than get stuck with duds. If a lot them end at the same time than so be it.
If we are a team planted in the top 4-6 then losing quality players comes with the territory. This process of re-signing players is not and should not be as stressful as what many are making it out to be
It wouldn't be if we had the junior systems to back us up. There lies the problem. We could easily slide back to the bottom 8 unlike the clubs such as penrith who will be top 8 for years to come
Junior system is overrated. Ask any Storm supporter
The Storm have Bellamy, enough said.
Yes Bellamy is the best coach in the NRL but he's not the bloke who scouted Smith Slater Cronk Munster Smith out of Qld or the Bromwich brothers out of NZ. You seem a bit ignorant on the importance of the recruitment officer
You can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear prophet.
Cronk was an Australian schoolboy rep because the talent was already there. Smith didn't debut as a 19 yr old for the Storm and Qld SOO at 20 because he was a dud. Bellamy doesn't create them he just makes them the best player they can be.
Junior pathways meh. Having quality scouts/recruiter who can identify which kids will step up to the next level is more important
Stop embarrassing yourself champ.
Bellamy hasn't been all that spectacular since the players he rorted the salary cap to keep have left mate. On the even playing field his not setting the world alight.
Bellamys whole golden era has been based on the NRL not breaking up his core group of players and being able to develop his next generation with them. That 1,7,9 combo should've been split after that rort. Just like ours was.
