Are we better off without Sandow?

I was at the Game on Friday night and the obvious thing was the fact that the dogs were targeting Sandow in defence.

Tony Williams was running at home all night. When Sandow went off injured, the dogs game plan went out the window and they seemed lost. We didnt have any weakness in the defensive line.

  • No we arnt
  • Will im for one hope we do  resign Sandow but I was talking to someone on here I wont say who but he thinks we will let sandow go and have Norman Playing 5/8 and Foran Playing halfback

    • I think at this stage BA doesnt even know himself. Foran only announced today.

  • I thought his tackling has improved, something he really worked on inthe off season

  • The guy had a bad game on Friday night. Still overall he has improved greatly over the past year or so and I think he deserves to be re-signed.

  • I guess it all depends on if it is worth putting Foran at Halfback. If so then Norman at 5/8 is probably a better option than letting Norman go.

I like Sandow but i don't think he is going to get us a premiership. He is on too much money anyway and aside from a massive decrease if he is re-signed i would much rather use the money on a star centre.

On a somewhat unrelated note i think we also may get rid of Hoppa and try to get Johnston so if we do get rid of both Sandow and Hoppa we might have some money to spend on a decent centre. As well as getting an explosive fullback in Johnston.

  • I believe we should keep Sandow and Norman. Move Norman to 1 and Hoppa to centre. If the cap is stretched I would off load Hoppa and look for a more dynamic centre potentially on less money. By keeping Norman it also gives us an experienced half if Sandow or Foran go down.
    • Norman isn't strong enough to play #1.

    • What other options do we have Ham? Hoppa is safe but isn't a threat at 1 for me.
    • Sorry Ham but don't agree with Hoppa. He has shown little in attack in 2 games, and big concern is his speed which hasn't improved enough over the off season. By middle half, are you referring to Paulo?
