Is this another example of us letting promising juniors go? I don't think Tupou got much of a run this year in TYC, did he? But i remember people talking him up last season as a future 1st grader.
Harder to fathom is why we are letting go of all our Hooker depth - First Mitchell and now Blackman. My Roosters mate said Mitchell was starting to form a nice rotation with jake friend towards the back end of the season and was bemused at to why Parra let him go.

A lot will hinge on Trent Crellin and Daniel Mahoney go in the position. Crellin's the better of the two, in my view.
Still don't know what happened with Daniel Galati.
He was there in 2010, then just disappeared.
If we haven't let him go, then he needs to start playing in the NSW Cup.
He was better than Blackman, IMO.
Daniel Tupou is a big boy who doesn't run like a big boy. He's a sensational target to aim a kick at, given his height but really with his size he should be an ideal kind of player that runs you out of trouble. He doesn't, so he's never going to transition into the forwards either. He needs to get a lot harder and more aggressive before he's a chance of playing NRL.
I've been a fan of Dean Blackman since SG Ball but there are probably only a handful of 172cm NRL players. And your right our hooking depth is a massive issue, but Blackman wouldn't have been ready for NRL next year or probably the year after that anyway, so from an NRL perspective, it's not really a factor.
Players like Preston Campbell are a testament to that fact.
If he wants to achieve it, and make it in the NRL, then he can through hard work and determination.
If you had to name the players from NYC that were must keeps, you'd go:
Loko, O'Hanlon, Terepo, Barba, Tautai, Gagan, Brien, Eisenhuth
I think all eight of those players will make it to first grade and they're all with the club next year.
