To start this off, this was all inspired by Mitchell Pearce and his dud of a career.
I have a strong feeling Roosters may slide down the table. One of their best players (Boyd Cordner) is out for 6-8 weeks. If you watched their game against the Cowboys the only word to describe their performance was distracted, direct all blame to the Mitch Pearce saga. Now even though the publicity of that is gone they are going to have a tough Origin period with Aidan Guerra, Michael Jennings and Daniel Tupou out.
To the next thing Laurie Daley openly stated that Mitchell Pearce cost James Maloney his origin spot (thankgod). I don't know about you but if someone else cost me an Origin spot I'd be pretty pissed off no matter how close we were. The teamwork between Mitch and James will be strained and their performance will drop. They will get slaughtered by a depleted Bulldogs team, hopefully beat Ricky's Raiders, get slaughtered again by the Storm, probably lose to the Knights and get messed up by Manly and may beat the Sharks.
Thoughts?

Pretty sure a whole bunch of people have died eating Angel Trumpet
I wish we played them twice now, not at the the beginning of the year.
Cowboys game isn't a great example as their half back didn't play. They were always going to struggle. As for how they track through origin period they are probably going to do quite well now that both their 5/8 and halfback won't be going anywhere. They should beat the dogs considering both halves are out as well as morris and t-rex.
If Mitchell Pierce cost Maloney his origin spot, then Maloney needs to do some soul searching because playing origin on the back of someone else isn't an awesome feat that one would be seriously proud of. If Maloney locked in his spot it wouldn't matter if Pearce is playing or not.
Not sure I agree with any of this.
I actually think the complete opposite.Yes you can say what you want about Pearce and Maloney but 5 weeks ago they would have been planning to play through the Origin period without them instead they now play the Dogs with them and the Dogs have dont have their 6 and 7.
I think without admitting it but their coach Trent Robinson although disappointed they missed selection would have had sly grin on his face when he heard the news
They also have too many other experienced players to continue to slide
The dud won a premiership! But no doubt has failed at Origin.
Yes they are about to drop down the table.
My advice is to sit back and enjoy the ride.
I actually think they will beat the dogs tonight in an upset but agree with the rest.
