ARE THE EELS MISSING PETER GENTLE?

In the discussions relating to the eels poor defence and ,lack of go forward by the pack, no mention has been made of the possible impact of the loss of Peter Gentle to Souths. As assistant to BA ,his role was twofold-he was forwards coach and defence coach-the two areas we are performing poorly in this year.Gentle was a vastly experienced coach both in Australia and the UK and he has not been replaced,with BA taking on this additional responsibility.Most teams have a specialist coach in this role and is one we need to consider urgently-Geoff Toovey would be one possible candidate.

Interesting that he hasn't been replaced. This suggest a cost cutting measure, which is understandable given the club's financial situation. BA has enough to worry about, let alone being the defensive coach as well. Maybe Hindy will step in:).

Yes and it seems Brad asked every man and his dog to come as assistant but nobody wanted to.

Brad needs to get somebody like Toovey in fast, hes surrounded by bums.

Why does BA think he can do it on his own? Even the most experienced coaches have proper assistance

I consider him a massive loss, along with head trainer ronnie palmer. It's no surprise that the tigers are doing well, they've been very physical this year and i put that down to the off season they've had under Ronnie.
