I'll start by saying that I know the Cowboys beat us convincingly when we met them earlier this year, and I fully understand that its no easy task to go to Townsville and win at any time, let alone in a Preliminary Final. That being said, and after Cronulla was shown up last night, i decided to look at the Cowboys last 12 games results.
R13: Titans win, R14 Dragons win, R15 Manly win by 2, R16 broncos win, R17 bye, R18 Sharks loss, R19 tigers win (tigers robbed), R20 dragons win, R21 Bulldogs win, R 22 Roosters loss, R23 EWarriors win, R24 Souths loss, R25 Panthers reserves win.
These guys like Cronulla have had an extraordinarily easy draw. The only times the played a strong team, they lost.
I'm definately thinking that they are imposters and like what Souths did to Cronulla and Parra to Canberra, they need to be shown up.
Based on the results and the draw that they have had, Parra should be able to overcome the home ground advantage and put them away.
If we can't, then there is no doubt, we are pretenders.

Yep. Cronulla showed the cowboys have plenty of holes in their defence.
The only thing that could really get in the way for us is if we drop off our intensity again. We have the ability to make this a convincing win, but the players have to believe in that. It's in their hands.
This will happen when JA comes into the game..
You saw it agains the raiders when moses went off and he came on, our intensity dropped..
More like nervous energy and timing was off - don't think the players trust him tbh and it shows in their body language.
He will be picked just hope he doesn't get on unless it's in the bag.
Yep
Exactly Frank it's clearly obvious the players don't have a lot of confidence in Jake when he comes on. It's just so crazy having him in the 17
Oh i wouldn't go with us being pretenders, NQ are a very young team and will be quality in 2023. Are they not as good as thought due to their results? I mean possibly, we beat some big teams but lost to some dreadful ones too, NQ won the game they were 100% supposed to win.
They have alot on their side for Friday and the pressure is on them. If they win then they handled the pressure really well, remember we are underdogs and fairly enough. If we were favourites then of course we could be pretenders but If we lose we are definately not pretenders. It is hard to go 4 weeks straight to a GF, NQ had a week off and it helps, alot. What also helps is the lack of travelling and conditions, everything is against us, even stats. If NQ win then they prove all those things right.
The one thing we all need to avoid is treating NQ lightly, that is how we get burned. Plus this NQ list was the worst in the comp in my eyes in round 1, Todd Payten is their key, he has made them a genuine team to compete and with a week off they will be ready for us. Payten is a hard task master and they never have two average defensive performances together. But we also have nothing to lose and that makes us dangerous, give us space and we are off.
So no we are not pretenders if we lose on Friday. But i do believe NQ will be a force in 2023.
LB, your point about us losing to some dreadful teams basic backs up what I am saying.
NQ, whilst by no means dreadful do enjoy a position on the ladder due more to their favourable draw than their ability.
IMO, if we can't win against them, then we also need to have our credentials questioned.
Not exactly, I think it was a bit of a BA plan to get us set and ready around this time
When losing to shit teams I think our mentality was worse then than it was now
A big factor in how this game plays out will be who the on field and bunker officials are.
There are definitely officials that will always give a big advantage to the home side.
