  • Well that would not make sense considering both Gutho and RCG were off contract in 2025 as was Ofahengaue.

Not like Matto where he has a year left if we move him he have to pitch in. If we decided to pitch in for 2026 as well for Gutho and RCG when their contracts ended this year that is purely idiotic.

Paid out some freight this year makes sense. Like Gutho on $900k and pay $250k of that to him at the Dragons? Who knows but Gutho, RCG, Cartwright and Ofahengaue all had deals end this year. Not sure what entirely happens with Lane's salary as he had a year left as well.

    • No one really knows wether any player has freight on them...We say stuff like titans have to pay freight on Tino, so we are probs paying it too

      • But when they are off-contract, there shouldn't be any freight on them for 2026 since they didn't have a contract to pay out for 2026. Then people could say we added 2026 to move them on, but seems RCG was fine leaving and Gutho after getting a great deal from Dragons left without too much hassel either so not like we begged them to leave so sweetened them up with adding an extra year of freight.

Not like NAS who has a deal til 2028, whether he goes Melbourne have to pay something til then unless the club he goes to pays full freight.

        • It seemed RCG was fine leaving, but what if it was because we offered 2yrs freight to whoever takes him. If we only do one he takes up his PO and we'd be stuck with him on big money; We may be still paying .

I don't know if this is a thing but.....

          • Well no as numerous clubs came for RCG, adding an extra year of salary to pay when only contracted for one makes no sense as unlike Matterson, RCG had suitors so it wasn't like we added in money for 2026 just to beg him to go.

Plus GC gave him a new deal, not like they just took the deal we gave him. Unlike when we signed RCG and Waqa Blake in 2019 from Penrith where we took their deals in complete with Penrith pitching in.

            • Perhaps numerous clubs came a callin' precisely because 2yrs of solid freight was on the table

Happy to leave and not activate  po's  for the same reason.

The club could release a total freight figure without naming names or how many players on the truck, but it ain't gonna happen. We may be surprised at the amount.

              Where is the money going?

    • Lane's salary would go to zero. He retired.

The only players left with existing contracts for 2026 who were signed under Arthur are Matterson and Hands.

We are paying zero 'freight' for any other player.

      • Lane is zeroed....and i really love the way you say "zero freight" with such confidence.

        • Well, your entire rant that freight is being paid has been backed, so far, by zero evidence... yet here you are demanding that anyone who disagrees is wrong.

          • No i'm not. I am saying that i think anyone saying it is not possible is wrong. We could have structured some things in strange ways. Maybe not, but something is weird
