Apparently Hodgson was out with the flu

Do we believe it? Considering our team looked better with Hands, I have supported Hodgson but no denying we looked better with Hands he gives us our best chance to win at this stage.

But do we believe that and he will be back next? Or just a cover up for time being?

  • BA said Hodgson will be starting next week in the press conference. Be nice if Hodgson can take up a coaching roll next year and a hands/Yates combo can move us forward

  • 5 day turn around to Darwin; hardly a great place to play anyway. Nothing in it and I reckon Ba has rested him. Big game next wk and then back for Newcastle too who are physical as.

  • I called for Hands to be promoted and selected just before he was, so I think the bloke is massive for us, however he is raw, has all the fundamentals, but still needs to learn the art form of taking it to the next phase. Im talking about a running game and a kicking game, he needs to still be taught these skills and given  the confidence to act them out on the big stage. Hodgson is still required on game day, but his physical limitations must be considered. 20 - 25 minute stints is perfect for him moving forward. He is dangerous whilst not fatigued. One thing I am noticing Hands service is very slick where Hodgson throws behind the runners a lot. Is is you think because he is trying to fit into our system of quick ball away from where he stands, compared to playing for Raiders he would take a few steps engage the markers then ball play, and pass off. The timing from him to our runners or half is off, and it continues down the line. New combinations  I guess takes a while to gel.

  • I think Hands has all the ingredients there to be the future. Yes he is raw, but wow, notice the service is faster and none of his passes were forward or line ball all game. His defence alone is better than JH. Hope he gets more minutes. By the end of the year, I see him starting regularly.

  • I still reckon Hodgson was more effective than Dylan Brown yesterday.

  • I hope he didn't have the man flu, because I've had that and it's pretty nasty...

    • Worse than child birth. There's been studies confirming it.

COVID was a breeze , when I got COVID the first time it was obvious wher we all went wrong , we had that silly unhealthy looking toothless women with the broken glasses from the health dept   And Gladolf telling us how bad COVID was every single day , if it hadv'e been a man then they'd have had the dreaded manflu and would've known COVID was fuck all. As soon as they got rid of them and Dom the bloke took over , he was like " my bros , go out and play ", lifted the restrictions and the rest is history . He knew it was fuck all compared to what we'd endured with the man Flu .

  • Hodgo is not an 80 minute player. Still think a Hodgo/Hands combo is better than either of them for a full game. Hands seems solid but pretty basic, hodge is a better 9 but just past his prime.

    • Agree , the 1-2 approach is far superior to either of them for 80 mins .  From what we've seen so far Hands as an apprentice to Hodgo will be a much better Hooker for the experience than Reed could ever dream to be . And that's not having a shot at Mahoney either . Who'd he have to learn from ? And he became quite sufficient in our system . But he wasn't getting any better .  Now he's just a peanut who will go backwards .

  • I'm happy with Hands, he's the future in my eyes. We look a lot better when he's out there.

Happy for Hodgson to start and come after 25mins.
