ANZ stadium home games

I recall seeing that our previous board had signed an extended deal with the operators of ANZ stadium just prior to being given the boot despite the rebuild of Parra stadium already being approved. I think it was to continue taking 2 home games a year there for another 5 years and Bernie stated that he was going to try to reverse the deal. Does anyone know if this ever happened?

  • I think we will continue to play 1 home game a year at ANZ, likely the tigers Easter Sunday game, that’s it
  • No reversal, the agreement stands. And so it should..
  • given it’s being demolished in 2 years, I don’t think it really matters...
    • I thought Allianz was being rebuilt first with ANZ to be rebuilt after that. In about 5 years.
    • Allianz demolished end of 2018/early 2019.

ANZ demolished end of 2019/early 2020.

      2020 grand final at SCG
  • The government own both grounds so my bet is that unless Parra will sell out we'll be playing at home.
    • ANZ is still privately owned (leased). The government will pay out the owners when they rebuild.
