  • We are paid by ANZ a large sum of money to pay a few games there each year.
We always play the dogs there due to previous dramas with crowd control at eels/dogs matches at parra, and we will get a much larger crowd that Pirtek can hold
  • From memory we get about $160K per game from ANZ, if you subtract what we lose in catering and patrons heading back to the club it's pretty average . Not enough to give up a home ground advantage against Canterbury or Souths who use it as their home ground in my opinion .
    • We plays souths at pirtek now
  • What I've heard from people in the club is we are $150k better off after all is said and done, per game. That's almost 1/2 million a year. Good business for mine. There will be over 30,000 there on Friday night, vs less than 20,000 at pirtek.
  • Speaking to a former club CEO, after i asked the question why games at ANZ, i was told that poker machine revenue drops on game day as a certain race wont visit the club when the footy crowd is around. There is more money in pokies than schooners.
  • Imagine 80,000 Parra fans. Should create a promotion to break a crowd record there.
  • Don't we have a current agreement to play a certain number of our home games at ANZ?

Anyhow - get used to it because that will become our home ground when the reconstruction of Pirtek Stadium starts.

  • We are 2 from 2 at anz this year so 100% record

Plus it frees up some spots like we all know who 5/8 will be but now no idea."
