  • They're definitely making quicker calls in relation to try's awarded. I'd even say the mentality is more looking to give the try rather than look for a reason not to.
  • I'm watching BlacJac. No challenges yet. Saints lead 14-10. They have 20 sec to challenge.
    The best thing so far is that Henry Perenara is ref....so that will mean we may get a fair go tomorrow.
  • It's a must for 2017.
    There's no need for the refs to go to the bunker, and puts the onus on the captain/coaching staff.

    *Speeds up the game.

    * it's a must.
    • What does it say about the bunker then Chief?? It was made out to be the best thing....
      Teflon Greenburg was waxing on about this in early parts of the season.....but not now. I personally think refs should be able to check things anyway. I don't know if captains etc. can see all discrepancies on the field at any one time.
      Yes it does speed things up. I'd be happy with no bunker, and refs calls.
  • Have to say it's been good so far. Not coz of correct decision but it prevents the dumb refs from going to bunker on obvious tries. So far so good. Not sure NRL didn't inform refs to stop going to bunker so much anyways regardless of this new captains challenge rule.
    • Maybe KFC haven't paid for the advertising.

      I was told earlier this year (from a good chicken BBQ sauce) that KFC had to get a minimum number of ads each game that's why the blunder was used so much. No other reason.

  • Commentators just said Captain's challenge has NOT been used yet

    • What matters is that the refs don't need to go upstairs every try.

      The onus is on the captains.
  • Jamie Feeney with that haircut looks like Doug Bollinger.
