I'm headed down there this weekend for a mate's surprise birthday. We're going to take him to the Raiders vs Warriors game 3pm Saturday (to get him out of the house before the party). Any advice on where or where not to sit? Is general admission ok?

I've been to Eels/Raiders games @GIO. My (Canberra-resident) mate and I have always sat in the grandstand, eastern side (named after Rugby players; can't recall name). A number of Canberra mates have said sitting at ground level at GIO is awkward viewing, due to the advertisement-heavy sideline displays. But I've always been higher so I can't report on general admission. The eastern (bigger) grandstand - maybe George Gregan Stand, now that I think of if? - has a few bars serving you food and drink pretty efficiently.
