  • he and his manager spoke with eels officials on sunday, Watts was in sydney for the souths game. I think both parties were very positive but cannot tell you if anything was signed.
  • i think he will add spark, but he doesnt add the kicking , passing or the vision to the team that we need to be sucessful.

albeit, i'll be happy if we get him
  • I think Ando has realised how much we miss Kingston and is looking to sign someone with a similar up tempo running game, wouldnt be a bad signing in my opinion.
  • YH I HEARD IT BOUT HALF AN HOUR AGO
    IS HE A GOOD PLAYER?
  • If true -- it is a smart buy , totally unexpected . I see him slotting in well .
  • If we get him he will be a good buy. He plays very up tempo and has a bit of mongrel in him. Does anyone remember the game between the Cowboys and Tigers last year when he was into Farrah all game?
  • hope this is true. is a impressive player. He is just a more dynamic hooker than MK or Robbo. There both solid. But so is watts... the difference is He just seems to do the things that can create points or big plays in a game.
  • In rugby league week it says parramatta have held off talks with watts
  • This is a good purchase. Parra needs an up temp player at hooker so badly it hurts. In my opinion you can nearly swap the Keating brother around in terms of where they should be playing (and it seems judging by the wenty teamsheet that might half happen).

Watts will do a similar job to what Kris Keating could do at hooker.
  • I posted this under the wrong blog before......

The Eels can't fit Watts under the Cap and he is due to resign with the Cowboys according to SMH.

Cowboys move to re-sign Mason CHRIS BARRETT
    June 16, 2010

NORTH QUEENSLAND are confident they remain in the picture to retain Willie Mason next year despite the former Test forward having reportedly held talks with Canterbury about a return to his old club.

Cowboys boss Peter Parr met yesterday with Mason, whose form since relocating to Townsville this season has been impressive. Parr admits the sit-down was a ''very small step'' on the road to re-signing the 30-year-old but emerged from it positive about the likelihood Mason will stay in the far north.

''I've had a chat to him and he's enjoying living here and being part of the community here and I think that's showing on the field,'' Parr said. ''I think that after the chat … he'd certainly look at extending his stay here.''

The Cowboys have signed Antonio Winterstein from Brisbane and are edging closer to securing a major target, Brent Tate, from the Warriors. The signature of their hooker Anthony Watts should also arrive soon, with reported suitor Parramatta unable to fit him into their roster for 2011 and beyond.

The Bulldogs yesterday announced their signing of young Manly halfback Trent Hodkinson on a three-year deal believed to be worth $270,000 a season. ''I've had my eye on Trent for some time now,'' coach Kevin Moore said. ''There is no better young halfback in the game.''

The club's veteran halfback Brett Kimmorley will meet Bulldogs officials this week to decide whether to play on next season on a reduced wage. Canterbury have named another recruit, Ryan Tandy, for their match against Gold Coast at Suncorp Stadium on Friday night.

Meanwhile, St Helens have announced the capture of Manly prop Josh Perry on a three-year deal. The 29-year-old played in the opening State of Origin fixture but was dropped for tonight's second game.
