Another one that got away..

I purchased Danny Buderus's new book last week, i'm a real fan of Footy Autobiographies they really give you an insight into the head of a footballer throughout their career.Anyways just thought id let you know that apparently we were in deep discussions with Buderus in 2000, with him obviously choosing to stay loyal to the knights.Obviously you can question whether he would have worked out as sucessfully here as he did at the knights + theres the aspect that we may have lost certain players if we'd signed him.. But back then he wasn't really a big name, and could have been a great purchase by the club.But hey, on a positive we did get Brad Drew for that season :) (sarcasm)

Nothing wrong with Brad Drew,he was great for us in 01.

id much prefer Brad Drew in 2001! he was the buy of the year! i think we had way too much faith in him the next few years though! i think he had a go at our halfback spot!

Danny Buderus was NOT over-rated. He was a great player in his time & would not have been a better player at parra IMO. I agree that Brad Drew was Excellent for us in 01 & unlike some other players in the past actually played his BEST footy with the'MIGHTY PARRAMATTA EELS'.

I agree that Brad Drew was a gun in 01, but there is no question that Long Term Buderus would have been a better buy.

The guy won the Dally M in a 2004 in a team that finished 10th, and Johns was out for almost that entire season. He was (is) a great footballer.
