Cronulla have bolstered their NRL squad for the 2011 season, with goal-kicking winger John Williams agreeing to a one-year deal.
Williams was one of four new signings announced by the Sharks on Wednesday, as they add to their depth in the hope of lifting themselves out of the competition cellar.
Former Parramatta and North Queensland winger Williams will link up again with coach Shane Flanagan after previously playing under him in his time at the Eels.
The 25-year-old, who has played 72 NRL games, was the Cowboys' top point-scorer in 2008 and Flanagan believes his experience in first grade along with his goal-kicking abilities will be invaluable as a replacement for the retired Luke Covell.
"John is a very reliable player and someone who will add plenty of depth to the squad and place a lot of pressure on the other players," Flanagan said.
