Another Eel added to the NSW Squad

Clint Gutherson flying to Perth to join the Blues in camp. Going as NSWs 19th man. Probably won’t play next Sunday but the experience and exposure to a representative camp can only be good for Gutho and for Parramatta moving forward. He will learn a lot and come back a even better and hunger player I think to try and get invited back to camp for Game 3 as a certain starter. Freddy must see something in him if he’s taking Gutho as his back up back/utility player.

Either way I am elated for Gutho as I said this is only going to make him a hungrier and better not player.

  • This is good news. He's not far off. Probably the 3rd best NSW FB after Teddy and Turbo.

  • Gutho will learn a lot from the guys in camp.

  •  Id have Guth in the centres in front of wighton any day of the week. Wighton has that uncanny knack of making errors that no one else can possibly make.  Not on the same scale but very Paul carriage like

    • True this. Wighton is capable of some monumental brain explosions.

  • It doesn't count but no doubt his manager will try and activate his origin representative clause now.

A rare win /win for the club.  It is good for Gutho with exposure to the rep environment and hopefully motivates him to try take next step but comes without triggering the bonus clause and increase his value which is great for the club.

  • Well done Gutho !!!!

    • 2016- was Micheal Jennings

      • He was already an Origin player.

Apart from JH, Tim Mannah was the last player that Parra sent to Origin back in 2010!!!

  • I think the work that Gutho has done as a dummy half will have done his rep duties wonders. He's not only capable now of playing every position in the backline but he can get in there and give your hooker a rest as well. His utility value in a rep side (probably one that doesn't 187 second rowers) is enormous.

    • I'd also suggest he is insurance for Turbo Tom's dodgy hamstrings

"Depends on who backs up from origin.
If everyone from Parra and Penref back up, Penref wins easily.
We have Buckley's chance against the Dogs."

"We have to be patient and get another youngster from the parra ranks to replace a former parra junior.
Galvin hasn't proven anything yet and he won't do much more at the dogs."
