Annesley, Rorters and Obstruction

I am always fascinated that when the Rorters have something go against them how quickly the NRL responds. It is wrong for Annesley to make a comment proir to the mid week review and doing so undermines the referees and the process. Take a look at this clip. Rather than focus on the Penrith Fullback have a look Luai (not that I am a fan of his). This is a classic obstruction and this is what should have been pulled up. The decoy runner pauses (slows) in the line preventing Luai from sliding and helping in the tackle. The call from the video ref was correct although perhaps on the wrong player.

  • Tracking technology has been used that shows Annersley is wrong. This showed that the fullback would have been in a position to make the tackle. Once again he should not make calls until after a correct review.
