Would they let RCG take an undervalued pay cut to stay with us? Doubt it, they will say "He is valued at 700k, you have to pay him that or more" Then Roosters come in and say "We want RCG for 200k but we will pay the rest when we feel like it" Where Andrew Abdo will reply with "Yes your majesty, the great Nick Politis do not hurt me you can do as you please".
It is why i dispise Abdo and slowly V'landys for letting this crap happen more and more, i cannot hate the Roosters for doing it as lets be fair i wish Parramatta did it themselves, credit to them for getting away with it. All i can say is has there been any talk of Parramatta players taking a pay cut to stay? I am all for players taking a deal to set themselves up but does show the difference in culture to be fair.
I can just imagine how much Ryan Matterson's skin is crawling right now hearing that haha

The good old Roosters "Pay Cut" hey Mick?
The nrl doesn't have a market value anymore I believe
What a load of BS the salary cap has become, why not establish a independent panel to value players? If a player is valued at 700k and takes a pay cut the valuation amount is included in the cap - when was the last time the roosters or the storm landed in the. Bottom 4? Unbelievable situation and so easy to manipulate
If they don't, why couldn't we sign Lodge when we wanted to last year? It was about what he was valued at with only 10-12 rounds left. If a player is willing to take 150k, then that is on them.
It does sound hypercritical!
I hope the NRL come out and explain the reason. This was allowed to happen.
So let's get this right. The salary cap increases and one of the top players in the competition takes a pay cut. It smells doesn't it. I find it amazing that the NRL tells other clubs what they must pay players but never the Rorters. Then when querried by Parramatta they are told that was years ago and things have changed now hmmmm. Seems like the rules are changed for one club in particular. Just go back to last year when a player signed for 1/2 with the Rorters for what Parramatta where told they had to pay.
Now look for the Roosters to make a massive play for either Moses or Dylan Brown.
Well we've allowed it to get this far so we deserve what we get.
Dumbest club in the NRL, perhaps only slightly better than the Tigers when it comes to negotiations and getting our man.
There should be 3 NRL competitions.
