In my opinion AS was the greatest Australian cricket all rounder in modern times ( add fielding - the best ever ) . Only 46 years old .
It would be a very close call between him and Michael Bevan as the greatest Australian cricket all rounder.

Yes BEM different reasons I guess for our respective thoughts . I don't recall Bevan bowling as a rule though nor him being spectacular in the field line Stmonds . Bevan I recall was a better batsman without being as big a hitter of the ball as Simon .
