Eels used Andrew Johns to help develop the game of Moses, but yet again Moses has not provided any clutch moments in a crucial game. I am not just talking about missing his conversion, but throughout the game all he did was kick the ball, but never controlled the game.

Only Gutho, N Brown and Paulo were the reason our attack was good tonight. D Brown defence was good but attack was poor. The poor bloke is only 20 years old but I feel like he takes more responsibility that the more older and higher paid Moses who is weaker in defence and barely offers much in attack nor controls the game. Moses really needs a big pre-season to regain his running game but also learn and understand the game further. This is why I thought eels bought Joey Johns, but only looks that Moses has gone backwards since Johns has arrived. His decision making in crucial moments is very poor. I don't know whether it is because BA gives him his own instruction, if Johns has fucked up Moses's game or because Moses listens to neither of them. Whiile it's clear that Moses has the skill to be a world class 7, he cannot control his emotions or temperament and lacks the intellect in crucial moments. He really needs someone to help him further develop.

Most of us expected eels to loose tonight, but after having such a good lead at half time, it was up to Moses to steer us home which he can't do. Moses honestly seems like a five-eight this year because he has no game management. If Rabbits destroyed Dunster tonight, none of us would be very annoyed at him given the circumstances of it being his debut and limited preparation. But the truth was that Blake who is also our other weakness, actually defended well. Our right edge defended really well and our left edge was a bit crap due to Taka's laziness and lack of speed.

Our bench had very little impact and cannot control the ruck. The moment RCG and Paulo come off, the momentum swings so much and Moses needed to kick the ball out and waste time. We were in the lead, so giving our fowards a break was never going to do any harm. This poor gameplan will also mean that BA should be held accountable.

We deserved to win this game. Rabbits scored of an intercept, an unlucky error by Gutho and a desperate kick by Moses to keep our 1% chance of winning alive at the end of the game. Our tries were quite good but we just curse ourselves in crucial moments. Our kick chase was quite poor and we never got line drop outs so we could dominate possession and keep up the pressure. Surely the game plan had to involve dominating possesion given how lethal Rabits attack have been off late. The ref was very good except one crucial moment which swung the momentum completely. Cook should of been sent to the bin and eels would of won the game from there.

I really hope we have a better 2021. I think we really need to improve our impact of the bench and hopefully get Asiata. BA needs to ensure we peak at the right moment and not at the start of the season. Players like Lane, Matto and Moses started the season on fire but than completely faded away. This will cost Moses and Matto any chance of an origin jumper IMO. BA needs to learn to drop players so they are rested up and our better off (fix their weakness) come finals time. Looking at Blake's defence last night, if he keeps that up into next season, a pre-season should really get him going hopefully. Gutho, N Brown, Paulo, Jenko and RCG were probably our only consistent players throughout the whole year. Hopefully next year D Brown and Mahooney learn more about the game cause of there young age and really improve. For Moses, I have no clue. He just needs to learn how to control the game. He has Joey with him and I am sure Sterlo would also give him a helpful hand. I really hope BA has a look at his coaching team. He could really do with one more assistant, possibly an attacking coach like panthers had in Barret. This will alow BA to focus on being a players coach and effort coach which he is good at. Then the attacking coach can help Moses and D Brown flourish with the likes of Paulo and Gutho who are amazing. The attacking coach can also assist BA with gameplans which he is not the best at against big teams.

  • BA need to change his pick and stick attitude. Dunster played well last night. He could have replaced Fergo earlier in the season to give him a rest and take care of his knee problem. Issue with BA is he doesnot want to drop offformplayers. Likewise he needs assistants who are technical that can help him analyze the game and opponents to prepare a game plan A ,B or C. I was in the game last night and saw Nathan Brown icomplaining to the Doctor & trainer something about his chest area but he continued on. Don't know what's keeping Moses to take full lead & control of the game. It is more like Gutho is the half back, organising the play etc.

  • Unlucky error by Gutha...I don't understand.  You have to choose is it an error or just unlucky.  I thought it was dumb play. He should be ashamed of that...

    • Yep he should be totally ashamed that he made that mistake. Its not like he carried our halves and pretty much the team this season. Such a dog shit player. How did he make the blues team? Not even reserve grade quality player IMO. Should be in Under 8's.

      • The guy who set up all our tries in the 6 minute period during the first half? Come on, that's a silly statement.

It was a stupid mistake as Gutho was not getting out of the in-goal even if he didn't drop the ball, so he needed to play the percentages.

The lack of good decision making is another Eel trait unfortunately. Although I hate the Storm as much as anyone, they are consistent because they are a well oiled machine that always plays percentage football. Waqar Blake makes one break the whole match and what does he do, throw a desperation pass when it was early tackle and we were in good position.

Bellamy obviously spends a lot of time drumming that shit out of Storm players.

        • Lol I was being sacrastic because Desieels said Gutho should be ashamed of himself. Gutho shouldnt be because he played well despite that one lack of judgement. He was the main reason we were only in the game. Gutho has been our best player this year and I recon he deserves Dally M fullback of the year. He should be 2nd in Dally M behind Cleary as well.
