Anderson set to return to 2009 combinations

Daniel Anderson is set to re-instate the combinations that took the Eels to the 2009 Grand Final by moving Daniel Mortimer out of half back and returning Jeff Robson to the role.

Matt Keating is also set to return to the side as the side's starting nine, with Kris Keating remaining on the bench.

This is the side that Anderson started the year with, but re-shuffled after a frustrating beginning to 2010 where the Eel's struggled to win matches due to their inability to score points.

Since then, Daniel Mortimer has controlled the team's fortunes at seven alongside Kris Keating but the Eel's point scoring problems have persisted.

Likely side:

1. Tom Humble
2. Luke Burt
3. Joel Reddy
4. Jonathon Wright
5. Krisnan Inu
6. Daniel Mortimer
7. Jeff Robson
8. Nathan Cayless (C)
9. Matt Keating
10. Fuifui Moimoi
11. Nathan Hindmarsh (C)
12. Ben Smith
13. Feleti Mateo

INTERCHANGE
14. Kris Keating
15. Justin Horo
16. Justin Poore
17. Manase Manuokafoa

  • anyone else think DA has no solution to our try scoring difficulties? good move putting Mortimer back to 6 though.
  • Whats this Manuokafoa like? Havent heard much about him ,is he just another blow fly, blowing in taking the money then blowing back out?
  • Humble looks very soft at the back under the high ball (eg Broncos first try). I would actually play him at right centre and move Reddy to fullback. Reddy is safe under the hig ball and Humble looks very good in D.
    • Funny that, when watching the reply of that try I was thinking that at least Humble attempted to diffuse the bomb, while Hayne pretty much just watched it unfold...
  • I will be keen to watch Manase run :)
  • Oh dear - not all good but not all bad me thinks.
Manuokafoa hasn't done much up here in NQ yet he gets a bench straight up.
Johno Wright seems to have struggled to find form so far - don't we have anyone else?
Hope Poore gets some good game time this week.
If Robbo has been having problems with his passing game at 9 how will he go at 7?
Plus he is going to be under massive scrutiny which = massive pressure
I think Burt would be more effective at 1 as Humble did not look at all comfortable the last time he was there.
His size reminds me of Preston Campbell who does get steam rolled quite often.
    • Due to Mannahs NSW selection.
  • For me, there are still no points in this team. Seriously, can anyone tell me where the points are going to come from. If there was a week for Mateo to move to six, surely it was this week when we need someone to step up and give us the flair we'll miss without Jarryd.
    • No points in this team... we'll rely on NZ makeing a stack of erros.
    • Don't despair, man, you're the leader of this site and, as such, the Parra faithful. So, please, for all of us, keep the faith! :)
