Jarryd Hayne, possibly the most naturally gifted talented footballer I have ever seen, yet did not reach his full potential which would've been immortal status.
Just simply his kicking game alone, could boot a ball 80 metres effortlessly.
Though in terms leadership and locker room prescence? No.
Wasnt here talk of him being one of the causes of our disasterous 2018 season? BA getting rid of him to fix things?
He could be different now and could offer great insight but not sure if he is the person to have around the club.
imo LB I think he could offer more to even all grades than what johns had done even Mary McGregor , I mean is McGregor still with us ?
Christeel, the guys a fucking idiot. He's still getting into fights and virtually derailed Nathan Browns career , then you have the Bible basher aspect where he will be trying to recruit every Tom, Dick and Harry , and he simply js a walking, talking , living , breathing example of what you don't want young blokes to become.
Yes he was talented , but he also flushed his talents and career down the toilet. Considering the Nathan Brown incedent we've seen nothing to belive he left prison a changed man or has any intentions of re inventing himself as a life coach.
Could be selling dope and flashing women under a bridge somewhere these days for all we know .
wiz , all the more he should contribute and more importantly give back to the hands that fed him( if given the opportunity ) ,I mean he didn't stab or murder anyone or trafficking in drugs , regardless of lack of educational upbringing , I'll bet my bottom dollar there would not be a lower or top level nrl player that wouldn't take the time for few tips from Hayne regards to skills , knowledge, experience and development . now again wiz , is Mary McGregor still with us or under the table down out for the count after those 10, 000 schooners. lol
Hayne had freakist talent as an individual. That's it. No doubt this is why Brian Smith was reluctant to pick him at the NRL level whilst he was still at the club.
Hayne did nothing during his career that would suggest he would be an asset to any NRL club with relation to game plans, team building or any sort of people management.
I have no idea whether Mary is still leeching off us , can't deal with that dope at our club either. But from a post football aspect Mary makes Hayne look like a Queens streetwalker. Hayne couldn't even lead players during his purple patch era , imagine him now as an overweight failure trying to get his own life on track , giving impressionable young fellas advice.
Then we have the NRLW team to think about who would be interacting with the NRL squad. Haynes probably on a watchlist anyways lol.
It's a massive no. If we as a club have not surpassed the era of Hayne reliance then we are shot ducks .
Yeah rightio. The bloke played top flight NRL and NFL in a proper running position not coming on and giving it a kick. That's more than the vast majority of young blokes will achieve.
Pretty sure that 'fight' was a bunch of dickhead tradies who thought that they would be heroes and pester the poor bloke while he was out for a quiet drink with his mate
So what , a mature grown man laughs at tradies and hops in the car and leaves. Especially in the position where you have a lot to lose. A pissed idiot with a god complex stays and takes the bait.
Depends what was said now doesn't it?
Bloke is no Rhodes Scholar and I wouldn't be giving him a coaching gig but he's achieved a lot as a sportsmen and he's a hit a real rough patch that I hope he can dig himself out of.
I also doubt he raped anybody for the record
Doesn't really matter what was said now does it when you're a grown man with half a brain.
For the record , as someone who's never liked the bloke , I defended him to the death when he was accused of rape.
